The mission to get there, ive never failed to get to a party ive set my mind on wether its spending shit loads on taxi’s and having no way home, or hitch hiking, or at the last min persuading someone to go .. :p
The people, ive met amazing ppl at party’s and its always nice when you bumpinto them.
The fact you can do what you want and be who you are without no one giving a flying fuck!!
The sounds
The locations with places to explore
Above all i think the best thing is the people that actually take the time, effort money and risk in putting them on.
The Vibe & Atmosphere above all things.
The Music & being able to dance and not feel stupid. The freedom of no rules, not bouncers and the friendly, respectful, non-judgemental people.
I hate going to a club and having like 20 horrible old men trying to touch me on teh dance floor. never happens at a party. People respect your personal space at the same time as coming together in a group and moving together as one.
And being able to lose myself for one night.
I love it all.
The fact that there always seems to be somewhere really cool to explore in the morning or something really high to climb on top of. Beit a huge stack of hay, an electricity pylon, a barn or a windmill.
I love the general freedom to do whatever you want and not have to worry about the effects the way you do in real life.
I see freeparties as a means of escape or a holiday from real life.

My mate got hoisted up onto a coach at the three dayer, the guy then walked off without checking she got up ok and after trying to cling on she fell to the ground :p
So yeah allthough it’s good, always be carefull!!

hope she wasn’t too badly hurt…
I like climbing stuff, have no fear of heights and often get up to roofs etc particularly to take photos but you always have to look after yourself and not take stupid risks…
Last weekend I got into the compound where the big comms tower was in the woods. I was tempted to scale it, but in the end thought nah, this is an active comms tower, there is radiation up there.
Not worth shocks and RF burns (like being microwaved -ouch!) or cancer, nor falling off the thing (I was well spangled TBH).
there wasn’t even a sign with the safe and danger zones on there like on mobile phone repeaters :groucho:
I wouldn’t climb pylons either, even though there is a lot of barbed wire before you can reach the really dangerous bits if locals see you up there they sometimes call 999 for “your own safety” and you are then baiting up the rave.
Other stuff is OK if you are careful – but recently I was at some rave where this lad went splat on the ground from the top of a 15 foot hay stack.
Then because of sketchy parking people in the crew actually had to assist the Ambulance and Police in bringing equipment to the casualty, who ended up in the James Paget with various broken bones.
Not only must it have been frightening and painful for him (he was on various drugs), its cost the NHS at least £1200 to fix him, and thats when the rest of society starts to whinge about the impact of raves and drug culture on the rest of the community – and that crew (which is otherwise a good bunch of people) gets a rep for being “irresponsible”.
Yea I heard about that guy, is he all on the mend now?
lol yea i think you made the right desicion about not climbing that comms tower :p
Did you see as you left the track and got on the the main road, if you turnt left down the road a bit there was a massive lake! it was huge!! with a stone tower in the center of it .. my mate went in that on his little acid walk adventure!!
couldnt believe it, must have been a right mission, lol.

some of my mates found the lake but by the time they got back to the rest of the group we were all a bit sketched out and knackered to do too much exploring (plus wary of lurking heddlu)
how did he get to the centre without a boat?
as far as I am aware he is…. although it will take him a few weeks to recover from the injuries sustained.

There was a walkway too it. That would have been amazing to sit on top of it watching the sun on the lake, wish id gone 🙁
the look of a bassbin when the sun is shining …
everybody feels so alive, you make it your personal mission to get there and when you do you are met by like-minded, and to be totally honest, wonderful people
Theres so much, theres the obvious things, the music, the vibe, the surroundings (if its done well). Some of the people are awesome, ive never not once been to a party and not gone off with random people/peoples for a few hours, and have other random people amazed that i didnt know them from before the party. Like has been said the unpredictabilty is awesome, anything could happen from a swat team dropping from the sky to a bull charging into the rig. Waiting for directions to come out is awesome, hammering various partylines praying its not 300 miles away. Also great when u get there end up in some stupidly long convoy. I was in the front of a 150 strong convoy once and had no idea where i was going, ended up taking everyone down this wrong tiny little track, everyone doing 3 point turns, was fuckin classic (apologies if it was any of u)!
N no ending time is great coz at clubs n stuff i often find myself getting paranoid n stuff thinkin shit like oh fuck all finishes in 2 hours gotta do this n that first etc, much easier to party freely without the restraints of time. I love how freely available drugs are – at the masked ball party in london in december, before music was banging out someone shouted “has anyone got any ketamine?” the whole crowd roared “yehhhhh”, n where else could u get that except for a big vets picnic! Reason im going off on one is havn’t been for a few monthes for reasons id rather not disclose, but can’t wait to get back into it in a few weeks!:bounce_fl :bounce_fl
I love it all, but especially love the fact that its so naughty! teehee. someone should start a thread about what they hate about free parties. I’ll go first: Treading in hippy shit. :yakk:
. . . in bare feet ! ! ! Aaiiiieeeeeeee . . . :yakk: 😥 (done that yuk!)
All about doin what you want where you want with a good vibe.
