In NL only around 4 people usually die every year from taking pills. This is mostly because they allow folk to test them. Even in the UK where testing how much is in a pill is not allowed there’s only about 10/11 or so deaths per year which isn’t many compared with the number of users. Way more people are killed being knocked down on the street by cars or in a car crash, or crossing train tracks and being struck by trains or electrocuted (some light railways in UK and Europe have high voltage third rails) when going to and from their night time fun, than from drugs.

There was a lot European pill users dead in 2010 and 2011 because of a nasty substance PMMA turning up in them, which found its way into pills all across Northern Europe and killed many people. But because again NL has tests by both consumers and feds, the source of PMMA pills from that country at least (a young couple in a border area) was found quickly. From what I remember on the Dutch news the couple got a fairly long prison sentence, which is unusual for low level dealers, normally they are just fined and their profits confiscated (this funds the test labs and costs caused to the health service by party culture).

The prison sentence was to reflect the fact that they had sold dangerous pills what hurt and killed people as well as breaking drugs laws.

in reality most people in England especially where I live don’t actually believe the newspaper bullshit. they know that pills aren’t that dangerous, or half my generation wouldnt’ be here. what makes them sill disagree with total tolerance/decriminalisation is they’ve seen people they know overdo pills and have mental health problems what affect both themselves and others.
