Very interesting article which at times I thought I was going to shortly thoroughly disagree with but pretty much ended up agreeing with it all.

There are many different reasons why people become addicted to the thing that sucks them in, but I really believe that low self esteem and social isolation play major part. Support for those struggling is not “one size, cure all”. If a support system helps just one person to overcome whatever problem is troubling them, then that is a success. It pisses me off when people write others off as an addict who has used up all there chances, without trying to understand how they got there. “There but for the grace of god go I”.

Actual research and not made up bullshit gives figures of 15%-20% of users will become addicted to one or more substances, regardless of the substance. The substance ould be hrpoin or cannabis and almost exactly th same number of userz will develop an addiction, regardless of how addictive we have been lead to believe the compound is. Morphine is exactly as addictive as heroin but you ask the average person and heroin is a million times more addictive at least.

Total fuckingncrap.

It’s odd how someone who is dosed up on morphine while in hospital doesn’t leave with an addiction but others do. The physical effects of addiction are more obvious than the psychological ones but the psychological ones are the most difficult to deal with, and last longer. I may be talking utter shite (been a long wknd) but I agree with the thought that total abstinence might deter people. Who wants to say never again, it’s too final. Admittedly I am rather uneducated on the chemistry, but addiction, which isn’t only about abusing substances, I have a better understanding off. I think I’m trying to teach my granny to suck eggs here because you guys have much more knowledge than me. I am just very passionate about not giving up on people when they are struggling, while society makes unfair judgments , making it harder make a change.

If you had a granny who had a hip rep,acement, she was given diamorphine in hospital, diamoprphine is heroin; How mant grannies do you know that comeout of hospital with a smack habit going out robbing as soon as their hip is healed snd their meds stopped?

That was my point, it’s not the chemicals but the way people react to them, and how they deal with them in the longer term. Please tell me if I’m talking bollocks…too much wine and not enough of the other.

You are far from talking bollocks my friend but may not realize how close but just how rfar away from the truth you are. An addict is generally someone with serious emotional issues created by things that are definitely not drugs, they are created by serious emotional trauma and the drugs/compounds are an escape. You will find that true in almost 100% of cases .

The world and the wankers in charge will never ever dmit this and will deny the most needy people in society the treatment they eed and deserve just ecauser they are spineless fucks.

Couldn’t agree more, both with trying to escape and the treatment of people by the ruling elite. I’m going to leave it there before I get on a drunken political rant. Always best to do that when you’re too fucked to make a justifiable point. Also having to spell check every other word tells me I should not be allowed to medicate and type at the the same time 🙂

i read the article yesterday, could understand the half first part about what they was talking, but the second half i couldn’t understand really the point of the article, in other words the 2nd part , I capture ABSOLUTELY NJOTHING.

THIS LEADS ME TO THE RESULT THAT I COULD NOT UNDERSTAND EXACTLY YOUR COMMENTAR WHICH WAS THE INITIAL REASON WHY I TRIED TO READ IT. 🙁 Fucking english language :bitter:

I JUST RESOLVED MY ENGLISH PROBLEM by changing the traductor I was using with the GOOGLE Traductor which is so STRONG that he can even correct the spell check that tryptameanie doesn’t care :horay: :weee:

And if tryptameanie wouldn’t type as fast than he should, would loose his time with his keyboard typing faults, wouldn’t have enough time to read as much he certainly do to afford the knowledge he has concerning the biggest disease of the 20th and certainly the 21st Society :laugh_at:

NO, Would be a bad idea, nobody would be able to read all the threads. I think that nearly 900 in less than 18 month are certainly enough to store all these data on the PV servers

Sorry but 100% is a bit extreme, first and best example is Me, I became Addict because the human is genetically made like a machine looking for fun and pleasure, and in my case, my DNA is extremely tending at that side. I NEED EXTREMELY MUCH PLEASURE to be happy in my life and
has nothing to do with an emotional trauma. :hopeless: :you_crazy 😉
