Load of hackers attacked their website with a DOS. Next thing I knew they had sorted it and published the lot.

Not quite sure how I feel about the whole concept, but it is interesting.

    *hi five* to wikileaks

Complete openness of information is a prerequisite for eutopia

In 2004, a German citizen was snatched in Macedonia and allegedly taken to a secret prison by the CIA. Agents had apparently mistaken him for an al-Qaeda suspect.

imagine that happening to you, scary!

A government is built on trust.
This one just lost it’s foundation.

A government is built due to a lack of a better option, not sure anyone really trusts them do they? 🙂

its “interesting”, but doesn’t actually say that much more to those who have been studying the global political situation since the 1980s than most folk already suspected.

I was surprised to see that in these high tech days diplomatic cables are still formatted in the same way they were 30 years ago, and more so that the Yanks sent them over an easily monitored IP-based system, as if they are still using low-bandwidth traffic they might as well have just used the old style point to point links like AUTOVON etc…

Most people realise though the Yanks are two faced bastards what can’t be trusted, and nor can anyone else. But I think its definitely damaged the USA most of all. Most other nations, including the more warlike Islamic nations, have actually had their power bolstered by these revelations. They have even been quick to laugh off their differences, and dealt with the situation better than the West. its shown the real power that Islamic countries, China and Russia have in todays world.

I expect now lots more folk will say “fuck all this diplomacy, now lets sort out things by war”.

Already two nuclear scientists in Iran have been blown up by car bombs.

The price of our freedom will be World War III. Ultimately it might be a price worth paying like the last two, but not without considerable hardship, particularly for those now in their teens or early 20s who have only known relatively peaceful and prosperous times.

I remember seeing something about the american government branding the person who leaked the documents on some unstable region having nukes as a rapist.

    Due to much hazzle around persons and not the issue I will just remind people how and why wikileaks is a big important part of our time;

    Wikileaks – CableGate

when you read this then you understand what pressure made the dannish justice-department suddenly raided roj-tv(kurdish channel) and blamed them for being supportive to terrorism. Today, desmond tutu and approx 150 other major humanist, have officially made the channel a candidate to nobels-peaceprice….

    7. (C) Our efforts with European governments to shut down the

    organization&acute

s financial and support network are beginning to

bear fruit, and we are continuing discussions with the Danes,

urging Denmark to shut down Roj TV. In response to a request

by the Turkish military, EUCOM is developing a plan to assist

Turkey to devise and implement an effective information

operations campaign against the PKK. We increased our

intelligence-sharing with the Turks on PKK activities in

Turkey and northern Iraq, and CENTCOM conducts regular

overflights of PKK camps near the Turkish-Iraqi border

When right becomes wrong, resistance becomes our duty!
Freedom of speech is not negotiable!

I’m waiting for Wikileaks to publish what they know about UFOs! At first I was dead against it all but now I am in favour of what they’re doing.

    Roll on Full Disclosure!! raaaraaa
