Hu heckler on harassment charge
A woman has appeared in court in Washington after heckling visiting Chinese President Hu Jintao at the White House.
Wang Wenyi, 47, was charged with harassing, intimidating and threatening a foreign official.
Ms Wang, who had a press pass for the event, had shouted at Mr Hu not to oppress the outlawed Chinese spiritual movement, the Falun Gong.
An embarrassed President George W Bush apologised to Mr Hu for the outburst.
If convicted, Ms Wang could face six months in jail and a fine of $5,000 (£2,800).
First Amendment
Ms Wang, a doctor, had about 40 supporters at her hearing on Friday.
She was released on condition she remained in New York City, did not approach the White House and came only to Washington for legal reasons.
Her lawyer argued she was entitled to free speech under the First Amendment.
Prosecutors said the amendment did not allow her to break the law.
The judge did not rule on the free speech issue.
Ms Wang had received a press pass for the White House event on behalf of the English-language Epoch Times, which has strongly supported Falun Gong in the past.
She shouted in Chinese: "Stop oppressing the Falun Gong" and "Your time is running out".
She also shouted in English: "President Bush, stop him from killing."
She was ushered away after a few minutes by Secret Service agents.

First Legal Cannabis Plantation in Belgium Draw Up Your Plant!!!
A Belgian Cannabis Liberation Initiative
The purpose of Belgian law is to provide legal security to all civil citizens of Belgium.
Belgian cannabis law does not meet this requirement.
Consumption, possession and growing (one plant per adult) is allowed, but everything what is necessary to attain the product, is prohibited. (how can you grow a plant if it's prohibited to possess a seed?)
More then half a million Belgians are experiencing lack of legal security. They are forced to break the law on a regular basis to attain to cannabis for their personal consumption. They risk heavy sentences to maintain their cannabis use, which is easy to cope with for the large majority of them.
There is a contradiction in the ministerial directive of January 2005. One can possess 3 grammes and one harvested plant. A harvested plant contains at least 30 grams so to moment you harvest you commit an offense. And can you agree with your friend to put your plant in his garden? Or can you found an organization of people who'll grow their plant together if this is the way that suits them best?
“Draw Up Your Plant” offers a solution for the long time problems concerning supply faced by the Belgian government ánd it provides an opportunity for cannabis consumers to withdraw from the illegal circuit.
“Draw Up Your Plant” offers cannabis consumers a protocol enabling them to attain cannabis without trade. Each member of the organization can grow it's plant in a common plantation according to strict, yet simple rules. One man/woman one plant. Each plant in the plantation will contain a label with it's owners name on it.
One of the organizations important goals is to produce in a biological manner. Cultivation will take place under strict super vision, the harvest remains property of the members of the organization.
We will communicate the location of the plantation to the head of Antwerpen police force: mayor Patrick Janssens. The functioning of the organization will be completely transparent. The accountancy will be accessible by means of the Internet.
The official founding of Draw Up Your Plant will take place May 13 2006 at a cannabis manifestation organized by us in Antwerpen Belgium. (Vrijdagsmarkt 14h-16h)
For cannabis consumers who like our idea it's important to take action and inform your political*representatives who are responsible for the Federal drug policy about the initiative. You can write them an email or a letter, or you can become a member of Draw Up Your Plant, or you can announce the founding of organizations similar to Draw Up Your Plant.
We're stronger if we unite together to solve this problem for once and for always.

PARTY: Illegal ravers anger villagers PARTY: Illegal ravers anger villagers
http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk
AN ILLEGAL rave attended by thousands of people on a former Ministry of Defence site has left residents fuming.
Huge convoys of cars and vans began arriving at the private land, off the A47 near the village of King's Cliffe, near Oundle, on Saturday evening.
Chains on a security gate were removed with heavy cutting gear.
It is thought that more than 4,000 people from across the region travelled to the rave after details of it were posted on the internet.
Residents said ravers could be seen racing cars, drinking, dancing and lighting bonfires as a powerful sound system churned out loud music all Saturday night. The last of ravers finally left the site yesterday, leaving behind their litter and other rubbish.
Police officers were at the scene and kept a close eye on the situation, but said they decided not to force the ravers to move on in case disorder broke out.
Local residents say it's simply not enough and tougher action should have been taken.
Bernard Howard, a member of King's Cliffe Parish Council, owns an arable farm which backs on to the site.
He said: "There were people there who were openly drinking and taking drugs, then driving their cars both on and off the site.
"If they killed somebody on the A47 or on a nearby road it will be the fault of the police. All they were doing was observing, when they should have been stopping all vehicles going in and out, carrying out breath tests and searching for drugs."
The land was formerly part of nearby RAF Wittering, but was decommissioned three years ago and is currently up for sale.
Mr Howard said there had been six raves on the site since the RAF left.
He added: "Why should we have to put up with load music all day and night and having rubbish strewn all over the place?
"This is by far the biggest of all the raves that have taken place here and everyone in Kings Cliffe is furious at the way it has been dealt with by the police."
Officers from both Cambridgeshire and Northamptonshire police were monitoring the rave. A police helicopter was seen circling the site.
Inspector Clinton Hale, of Cambridgeshire police, said officers had not sought to forcibly remove people from the site because of fears it could turn violent.
He said: "There were too many people there and we did not have enough officers on duty to deal with it safely.
"In this sort of situation, if we sent a team of officers in, it could potentially develop into a riot.
"We will, though, be collecting intelligence and will deal with the organisers."
Inspector Hale said local officers received a call on Saturday from colleagues in Suffolk to say they believed a rave was planned for the area.
Within hours huge convoys of cars and vans were spotted travelling along the A47 towards the site.
Norfolk police trailed one convoy which had set off from the Thetford area and it is thought other ravers had travelled from Northampton, Luton, Bedford and Wisbech.

Holodeck fri 28 April,Jerome Hill + Access Tonal Communications LIVE + residents Nearly halfway through the month already, it's time bring you the details of this months 'Deck.
Last month with Chris Liberator was outrageous; we were at full capacity real early so sorry to those who didn't get in at all, we tried every trick up our sleeves to get you there. Chris held everyone on the dancefloor till well after the lights were switched on, you don't often see a room that full on lights up.
To follow this month in the main room we've got another Holodeck favourite - Jerome Hill. The Brazil-based dancefloor prodigy returns for another genuinely genre-mashing set, while support is provided from local electro collective Access Tonal Communications LIVE, the stylings of Simon Kimber and the ever reliable Paul Scheeres.
Breaks and Beats are ably handled this month by some of the safest hands in the South West: Paul Smith, T.O.S.S.E.R.S' Lady Muck, Wascal, AP Bolan, Benjay and Onyx. You know what Room 2 is all about.
Come down and pay us a visit.
