UK: Halloween rave organiser nicked From Hampshire Police press releases

An Alresford man who organised an illegal rave at Crabwood, Farley Mount near Winchester last year, has been fined £300 and ordered by pay costs of £200 by Andover Magistrates.
James Robert Peter Dean, 21, of Vernal Cottages, Spring Lane, Alresford, appeared before the magistrates on Wednesday (September 15).
He was taken to court for organising the unlicensed event held on October 31 2003.
On the night in question, police made four visits to the site during a five hour period before the event was closed down. Four people were arrested for public order offences.
Sergeant Bill Ord said: “We are pleased with this result and hope it shows how seriously we take this type of offence. Raves can cause misery to those nearby due to excessive noise and disruption.
“We also hope this sends a clear message to those who hold or attend illegal raves that they will not be tolerated and we will take action.”
Inspector Steve Sargent added: “The police are not out to spoil party-goers' fun just for the sake of it but, whenever a rave takes place, thousands of people are kept awake all night; the disturbance usually carries on well into the following day and the public are denied access to the site - which is usually a recreational area.
“Also, at raves there is usually no provision for crowd safety, toilets, parking or clearing up litter at the end. For these reasons, the police are given the power to close parties such as this.
“At Crabwood in particular, the sound carries to Winchester and to the surrounding villages, and the area has been declared to be a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
“Hampshire Police have access to information which alerts us to the time and place of forthcoming raves and, throughout the summer, we allocate extra officers to preventing illegal raves. If the rave does not materialise, these officers are diverted to foot patrol in town centres.
“This case shows we are prepared to take swift action against the organisers of these events, and that we can identify them, prosecute them, and seize their equipment - the result being increased peace and safety for the public.”
not sure where they get the idea "public denied access to the site". The organisers can't help it if people are frightened of them for some bizzare reason (I have never known locals to be threatened or approached aggressively by partygoers!)
Some new tricks please !! Ok all you worldly and experienced people. Have read lots and lots of stuff on pvibe in my efforts to gen up on my newly discovered 'recreational' drug pleasures.
A lot of the comments etc are a good few years old and attitude, experiences and knowledge has changed as the drugs referred to have changed/tampered with etc. I personally am new to this scene and I am responsibly taking small steps and doing lots of research first. However as in most cases a lot is said about it being different for all people and not a universal feeling or reaction. Can I therefore please ask some advice.

Started off with E tabs (white cherries) Only took one to start, had a really, really nice loved up feeling. About three weeks later tried again - nothing. Few weeks later tried again this time with 2 pills. Not bad, similar to first experience. (you really must try E whilst listening in a dark room full of burning candles to Maria Callas singing the opera Madama Butterfly')…….. blew me away - life changing…… oops sorry lost it there for a mo……………….. Ok , well it seems now that each time I pop a pill, the effects are less and less, sometimes nothing at all. I'm not doing any other stuff and the E is only every two three weeks and then only 1 or 2 pills. Is this the quality of the pills or am I doing it too often !!!. My situation now is that I have the opportunity to try a couple of other things but once again I'm a bit of a woos and a tiny bit unsure (due to the different stuff I have read). I am being offered Special K and pure MDMA what should I do. I really do love the closeness etc we experienced with E but saddened at 'flat' feelings from the cherries. Also have read that Special K is bad if snorted and is more a solitary' experience and not a 'sharing' thing which we so love with E. Come on you lot, teach an old dog will ya…………… :flowers:

For more than 30 years, the squatters of St Agnes Place have formed one of Britain's most distinctive communities.
The proud and well known Rastafarian enclave, complete with its own temple, drew Bob Marley to St Agnes Place on several occasions in the 1970s. They say it was his home from home. But Marley passed away in 1981, and soon the unique community in Kennington, south London, may be history too. Twenty two terraced houses at the heart of St Agnes Place - said to be the capital's oldest squatted street - are likely to be demolished to make way for a social housing development.
Attempts by residents to claim official and then informal squatters' rights have been brushed aside by the courts and the properties have been declared unlawfully occupied. Officials on Lambeth council claim the redevelopment is necessary to regenerate a rundown area plagued by crime. Surrounded by parkland and close to the station, each house could fetch around £500,000.
Yesterday the 100 Rastafarians of St Agnes Place prepared to mark the anniversary of Emperor Haile Selassie's coronation in 1930 knowing that the deadline for them to move on has elapsed. The council returned to court yesterday to get a further order and the next visitors could be the bailiffs. But the Rastafarians and other squatters are determined not to go without a fight. "We are not just going to move," said Ras Solomon, a tall, thin figure. "This is the core of the Rasta community in Britain. We want to work with the council but we are not going to stand around and let them evict us like animals."
At the temple, the UK headquarters of the International Rastafarian Movement, Sister Nzingha said they were victims of gentrification. "We took these properties on when they were rat-ridden, without electricity, without gas and without windows. We made this place habitable."
Even those who are not Rastafarian claim the diverse mix is worth preserving. Alex Windsor, an aspiring jazz musician, said: "People feel able to leave their doors open. But we are on potentially lucrative real estate. The council has got its eyes on the money."
There have been previous attempts to regenerate St Agnes Place. In 1977 and 1978, officials tried to take possession. A ball and chain were moved into place, but the threat was seen off. Last month Lambeth won permission to execute a bailiffs' warrant. The endgame looms.
But the squatters say their communal way of life equips them to meet the threat. Meetings have been held in the cafe at Number 60, a basement room with a cluttered kitchen at one end. Young squatters boast of the international appeal of St Agnes Place, where there are also Brazilians, Moroccans, Poles, Germans, Spaniards and Indians.
Rastafarians congregate at the temple, with its red, gold and green Ethiopian flags, and at the other end of the street at number 93, where they organise youth activities and help aspiring musicians. Ras John has his place decorated with more panache than most - including a miniature water feature. "I have made it look good," he said.
For the council, the issue is clearcut. The houses are illegally occupied and lie in an area which needs new homes and better leisure facilities. Evicted residents will receive statutory assistance according to their circumstances.
But Anthony Powell, 58, who has been there from the start, said things would not be so straightforward. "This is our street and the temple is our embassy," he said. "These things will stay."
