IT security flyers created for work I made these to explain to managers how we should keep our networks secure without going into too much technical detail. They might not be "PC" enough to go on Flickr but (from the things I see in security logs) are not untrue either!

Rave Girls: Hot or Not? I'm a raver, a free party goes. I have always been and always will be. I utterly despise the mainstream plebian town center nightclubs and wouldn't be seen dead in one.
I'm aware that people can be both ravers and clubbers but I'm 100% a raver!
So as you might imagine I find pretty rave girls in brightly colored plats, baggy trousers, t-shirts and hoodies who go to free parties very sexually attractive while I find the kind of foul mouthed sexually offensive, half naked, drunken, disgusting, female scum in ugly white stylettos and vulgar short skirts repulsive.
My point is the women who typically go to raves are a lot more attractive to me than those who'll typically find on the high street in pubs and clubs.
What do YOU think? Pretty rave girls: Hot or Not?12…1112
hey guys whats up ive been looking to get into raving recently and was looking for a nice community to find then i stumbled upon this website. i have some past experience with drugs and im just generally looking for some cool people to get to know. hope i found a website to visit often :)
IN : Software engineer couple start 735 anmal dog rescue! Dude is only a year older than myself; and having started a sucessful software company with his wife decided to invest his spare cash in running the dogs home (in a suburban area outside Bangalore).
There are 3 times as many dogs as the entire human population (including the residents of the seniors home) in one village I work in!
To be fair it is likely to be far less stressful than raising children, you don't have to worry about dogs being able to pass the entry exams to MIT :laugh_at:

C Programming : controlling a cheap thermal printer via USB to TTL serial comms link Should work on x86/x64 Intel and ARM (although haven't yet tried it with a Raspberry PI) - set permissions correctly for the /dev/tty* device so you don't have to run it always as root..
Of course using Python is way easier (as I found out when trying to write code for another serial comms project) but I was determined to get the C code working somehow, the code is below if anyone wants it..

Cornwall NYE Free party/ rave 2016 Hi guys,
A group of us are heading down from the north for a surf trip around the new year and were just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to find anything going on NYE
Thanks!
UK : James Bond would not be employed by real MI6/Secret Intelligence Service To be fair this doesn't surprise me one bit; in real life this kind of work is mundane, dogged by bureaucracy, thankless and psychologically demanding. Also Bond is getting progressively older in the movies (and so would be the villains); IMO in the next one they should have him chasing them on a mobility scooter and being reminded by "M" to take his pills every few hours :laugh_at:
One of our patients a few years ago was ex-GCHQ from the cold war, having transferred there from the Post Office/BT - I felt a bit sorry for him as not only was he suffering both dementia and PTSD, he still couldn't talk to any carers about his work and he was always trying to escape out the doors.
Once I was working on telephone lines in the roofspace, and he was watching me intently trying to find the interception point (he used to tap the lines to Malaya and HongKong from China, I think he had got it into his head that he might be able to spring the doors open somehow)
Whilst I was up the ladder he (accidentally) decided to grab hold of that to steady himself instead of his rollator which he had placed next to it (to get a better look at what I was doing); giving me such a fright (the job was hectic enough as it is as its dark up there and I'd temporarily disconnected the main line to the nursing home) I ended up knocking the hand lamp down - this fell to the floor with a great crash and narrowly missed him by 1m, at which he decided to back off slightly (although I was more worried for his safety than mine!).
The noise attracted the matron, who asked both of us - "how do you keep track of all those wires?" - we both explained the colour code for multipair cables, which is blue/orange/brown/green/slate(grey),with group identifier colours white, red, black, yellow, violet that hasn't changed in a century and in spite of his Alzheimers he still remembered it raaa.
(the first few are still found today in cat6 cable)

USB killer now sold for £50 / €60 USB Killer, yours for £50, lets you easily fry almost every device | Ars Technica UK
Sends -200V charge through data lines (negative DC is bad, a while back I managed to spark a Raspberry PI I was running on just -24V to +5V inverter as the frame of the cheap cig lighter adapter (which was -24V) contacted an audio card with the frame of the audio at 0V and I'd ommitted the trafo to keep this from happening
These devices are openly on sale online, though not sure how long before Border Force / Trading Standards and other authorities restrict the sale of such items. Although they claim to be "CE marked" all that means is it doesn't risk giving a strong shock to the enduser, and its not illegal to put a CE mark on something which can be dangerous or antisocial if used wrongly, I (jokingly) put a CE (!) on my portable transmitter that I use for testing pager networks but if I really wished could monkey around with peoples remote control switches, put model aircrafts straight out of the sky though interference or even pop peoples car locks, luckily I'm an older and moe chilled out man nowadays so won't do any of that bad stuff
Most usage of this device (other than within an electronic test lab to test protection of USB circuits) is going to be illegal and immorral.
Could think of many scenarios - disgruntled worker in office/industrial plant or worse, a healthcare facility.
USB ports on some equipment can be flaky anyway; I've got a older digital camera from work in my drawer upstairs that was decommissioned as a surge came down the USB across the PE (earth ground) due to our sketchy electric supply and that knackered the USB connector (the camera still works if you physically take the chip out and use it in another reader)
But How long will it be before I end up physically stopping up USB ports on critical equipment at work (medical equipment often has USB ports nowadays( or ending up searching staff for portable devices?
It won't be long before folk end up in jail and/or others getting hurt...
Holiday Christmas Window Effects Projector Hi there
I just recently bought this Holiday Christmas Window Effects Projector from a company local to me in Cardiff called Digi4u and I thought I would post it here with some of my thoughts.
I went in store and was shown a Youtube video that showed what it was and really it looked great. They had projected a bunch of animated videos directly onto their frosted windows outside and you could see the image clear as day. (I’ll put the video below). It looked great and I couldn’t believe it was that simple to do, as I had thin curtains in my front room they said I could just project straight onto them and the video will be able to be seen from the outside, but if not then I could be instructed on how to make a vinyl projector screen cheaply from a Youtube video. I was also worried about how big and clunky the projector would be in my house (as I don’t have a lot of space to spare) however they showed me that the projector was barely any bigger than a Smartphone, a Lot smaller than I first thought. The Video Effects Videos were also bundled with the Projector on a Micro SD Card which could be inserted directly into the projector so I wouldn’t have to faff around going to websites and trying to find them. I bought the Projector set for £60 pounds in store which I believe is the same price as their website (which I will link to below if anyone is interested).
When I brought it home, I found it really was as simple as they had made out. I pointed the projector towards my window, inserted the bundled Micro SD Card into the back, selected the videos and pressed play. First impression was that the picture quality was quite impressive. As I said before the projector is very small, barely any bigger than my iPhone 6 so I wasn’t expecting miracles but it really was good, and the speaker on the projector was very powerful. I have bought Bluetooth wireless speakers in the past which sounded worse in honesty! After setting the video up I walked outside and found that sure enough the video was showing on the entirety of my window. It really did look the part. So now I am having this Video FX projector as the centrepiece of my Decorations this year and its already drawing looks in my neighbourhood.
Here is the video that I was shown at the store: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8esJYj88A4&t=2s
And here’s the link to their site in case anyone is interested:
