Hi people. This is my first post, and I was just wondering, how common are flashbacks from acid? also, I was wondering, what flashbacks are like, and how long after the trip did they happen?

I have not personally suffered from flash backs after taking acid but I have a friend who has. He used to take a lot of acid and mush’s around ten years ago and stopped doing anything other than smoking a bit here and there then all of a sudden started having flashbacks to times when he had been on a bad trip. This all came to a head in may this year and he is now in a secure unit and has been since he barracaded the house… have a look on the yourkshire evening post and search for ‘armed seige at house in headingly’. Acid is something to be enjoyed but not something to be silly with…I am not saying that its the reason for what happened to my mate but I think it contributed to it…

never had one, don’t personally know anyone who has but have heard stories like everyone else.

I’ve come to the conclusion that acid is different from pills ket etc. it can be fun definately but its also got a serious side and i realised its best to respect it

I’m not neccessarily talking a bad trip, but it can open doors in your head in a way nothing else does – dont make much sense do i but i know what i mean 😉

Ive had flash backs from cid but they wernt bad ones coz ive never had a bad trip

my bro did 5 Cherry Bombs and had paranoid scitzophrenia for 3 days and ended up in a loony bin for 3 days! He sed that EVERYTHING he saw (cars blowing up, cats and dogs runnin about, men in white suites trying to kill him) looked completely real, he tried to video what he was seeing on his fone and when he goto out of hospital and looked at his fone, they wer just videos of random things like the door in my living room!

I hope that your bro didn’t suffer any long term mental problems. I have to admit (I’ve never taken acid before, but knowing me, I probably will at some point in my life, though I don’t really plan to atm, but know a few people who have), I find it hard to imagine what that must be like to see something which appears so real, and yet, completely imagine it. I have to admit, seeing things like people in white coats walking about would scare me.

Is a flashback a bit like a very realistic dream? (except it feels more real, and is partly memory).
I have to admit, it must be hard to explain if you’ve ever had one, but try your best anyway 😛

ive had quite a few flashbacks, and im still young! they are no myth, tho i am yet to see a bad trip flashback(ive had many bad trips). usually theyr in every day life situations and they just kinda creep up on me, i dont like tripping when im not prepared for it! :crazy:

it was either in black and white or as it was really on the night (snow on the floor and it was dark) it literally just came over me, no more than a micro second, i saw a fence which i remember from the night, sitting in a playground near me mates house. but i saw it in first person so it was like i was there again except i wasnt cold.

it was like a still image, yet moving and distorted, it is stupidly hard to describe this to you all i know is it was from that evening, id even bet me cats dinner 🙂

the trips were more than a year ago.

Where were you when the flashbacks happened? I can remember when I was at school, they did the old “don’t take drugs” kind of thing, and the woman who came to talk to us, told everyone about some guy who was driving down the motorway with his family, and had a flashback from when he tripped like 15 years before, and ended up crashing the car, killing his whole family. I don’t know if that story has any truth in it (it seems possible that she was just telling us that to scare us into not taking it, who knows), but is there any way that the flashbacks can be “predicted”, and by that I mean, do some people get flashbacks when they do certain tasks, or think of certain things?

Is there any provacation to flashbacks in some people? How long do flashbacks last? are they just a few tenths of a second long?

to be honest they happen, maybe not to you but maybe to the next guy … you never no, drugs can be unpredicatable and need to be approached with caution.

to be honest ive never researched it or gone into it, all i know is i have experienced two of these ‘flash backs’, they didnt hurt me, didnt put me in a state of panic or shock etc … i just went about my day.

if you are thinking twice about taking the drug, then dont. you have one mind, dont go loosing it.

At this point in time, I have no intention of taking it, I am just curious about the effects of LSD thats all, and thought that it would be good to hear what some people who have experienced flashbacks have to say on the matter.

my experiences on acid vary, all unique and amazing and to be honest i dont think i can tell you about them because i wouldnt no how to describe it.

acid acted as a catalyst to me seeing the world as it really is

in that way I have continued to experience its’ effects continually since i first took it.. could you call that a flashback?
