We aim to print 10,000 flyers which will be distributed at parties, clubs and Teknivals all over England and Europe. These will cost £135.
If we exceed our target, we would like to get them printed in different languages for distribution round the Teknivals in Europe.
If everyone gives just a little bit, we can reach far and wide and help raise awareness at parties, keep our people safe and the vibe sweet.
Please help and donate to the cause, and if you would like some flyers sent to you PM me with your address and please include a small amount for postage in your donation.

every little helps 🙂
we have £50 in the kitty so far – that’s a pretty good response, but it is still well short of our target –
No one wants to think this could happen to them, their girlfriend, their friend or their daughter ……….. but the reality is, it HAS happened.
Please help us to make sure it never happens again.
Together we can make a difference.
seems like a good way of proving that the scene cares about these issues, and raising awareness (among both men and women) is so important.
these are the kinds of positive steps we need to be making and the first step is acknowledgement.
time to put your money where your mouth is……
in case anyone is wondering…..
… the money goes directly into a paypal account set up specifically for the cause. When a donation goes in, I am sent an email to tell me, I then store all these in a separate folder which I can refer to and see how much money is in there. When there is enough in the pot, I will get the flyers printed. I am hoping to get at least £100 – I will put in the remaining £35 – I can then send flyers out to anyone who wants them and they can be distributed at clubs, parties, festies, teknivals –

we now have £70.50 in the kitty
thanks to all those who have helped
I’ve just tried to donate but paypal doesn’t seem to take the credit card payments (despite following the instructions), made me register another card (my other one is registered to an email address on a computer in my old house) – it insists on more info like bank validation which will delay things by a week or more
any way I could send a normal cheque? Unfortunately I’m not even in Reading any more and can’t even come up to London easily to drop off the money (I’d be prepared to hand over cash if I could!)
there is something odd on paypal or they have gone into paranoia mode/are trying to get more customers as they aren’t just simply clearing a credit card transaction which should be straightforward but asking for more info..
i wonder how many other people have been deterred by this
mmm, i just sent some money thru ok using a card i have never used before. it doesnt seem to like it if you try and send money via a card if you use an email address which is attached to an existing paypal account – i just had to use a different email address.
i will pm you my address and forward your concern to paypal.
thanks for pointing it out.
a lovely guy called Daibhi has kindly redesigned the flyers for us.
i think they look loads better.
printing is imminent (hopefully in time for the manifestation)
even tho we’re still £45 short 🙁
if any one wants any sent to them, pm your address and i’ll send you a stack
here is the link to the new look flyer …..

feel free to download and print as many as you want …..
the flyer looks a lot better now – easier to process the information.
just read the rest of the thread on SJ and swiftly banged my head against the wall in utter exasperation.
Don’t really understand why there could be such a flippant attitude toward this subject.
Its never clear how much of an impact you’ll make through flyering, but if one girl reads it and avoids a dangerous situation as a result, then all of the money was worth it.
that’s one way of looking at it….
exactly
or even if one man makes the effort to look out for one woman…
the new flyer is so much better. There was a danger the original photo (taken out of context) could be seen even as a “saucy picture” – the newer version clearly shows a girl in distress who feels violated
IMO you do need to use sometimes scary images to get a hard message across (think of the cartoon picture on a matchbox “fire kills children” or the stick men getting mangled/zapped on factory safety signs)…
incidentally what confused paypal was being between two addreses – I don’t even have my cheque books at my new location yet (but I definitely am donating when I can…)
i agree – the shock aspect is more in your face. the text is easier to read too
i also wanted to convey that this doesnt necessarily always happen to girls – that guys can be violated too – im not sure quite how to get that across . .
I hope the flyers dont seem too directed at female abuse, as I dont want guys to feel left out . .

TBH I’m not sure how to address this, although I have read crime reports where psychiatrists state some rapists are so determined to have power over people they will attack victims of both sexes….
That said boys/men are usually more suspicious and mistrustful of strangers IMO and I reckon the danger is less; but even then if they let themselves get into k-holes when strangers are about anything could happen.
if we overstate the risks for the lads there TBH is more danger they will arm themselves with knives etc to protect themselves (or even their friends or girls whom they want to prove themselves to) against “perceived attackers” and then use these weapons without thinking. It is already happening anyway though..
Perhaps for the blokes a more common risk is being spiked and robbed / beaten rather than (sexually) assaulted – another risk as well is being peer pressured into carrying out an act of violeence against someone (think about the recent Mary-Ann Leneghan murder case) or the gang violence in London today
i was at that NY party in barca with load of english crew who live there, heard a lot of stories, being stiched up with 2cb was mine, but nobody heard of any girl getting raped. were a few wierd pervy euro types aqround tho
