The first 10,00 flyers are now printed to raise awareness of this issue at parties, clubs, etc

For a batch of flyers to be sent to you , please pm your address – a small donation for postage would be greatly appreciated as the kitty is now empty – the first 10,000 flyers were printed while there was still a shortage in the donation pot.

➡ Watch out for each other please – treat others as you would want to be treated in this situation.

:arrow:If you see something suspicious go over and ask the person you think may be at risk if they are ok. Its better to be safe than sorry and sometimes the person involved is unaware they are at risk.

➡ I had a friend who was being led away from a crowded area while she was wasted and blissfully unaware it was happening to her. When I noticed I went over and asked her what she was doing – she snapped into focus and realised she was quite a long way from the dancefloor and they had been herding her into a dark area [for nothing good I am sure :get_you: as they scarpered when I got there] This could have so easily been such an incident and no one would have heard her screaming as the music was very loud.

➡ Be aware of what goes on around you and to other people – these are crimes of violence which rely on us not caring enough to look after each other and not being prepared to stick our necks out and risk feeling stupid if it turns out we were wrong.

:arrow:Be aware and keep an eye on people around you [even complete strangers] – I have made a lot of friends by taking the initiative and asking people [whether I know them or not] if they are ok. People appreciate it when you care enough to ask 😉

A blast from the past but as relevant as ever. The latest date rape pill actually causes infertility and it is being used so the girl doesnt get pregnant, so the guy who spikes her doesnt get caught by a later DNA test!!

I still have a small pile of these flyers knocking around if anyone would like some for their local youth club, nightclub or wherever. We distrbuted them far and wide and on the whole they were received well – (someone got a punch in the face – Jon Tooth I believe:laugh_at: – I have no idea why !??? :yakk: )

Sadly the stay-safe website came down but that was completely out of my hands from the start – a great shame as it was a useful place to go for further info and it would have been good to keep the campaign going …

Suffice to say, we all need to remember to do our bit when we’re out – Stay SMART. Don’t take drugs or drinks from strangers. DON’t get spiked!! Watch out for yourselves, each other, especially those who are vulnerable and wasted, Stick together, have FUN, STAY SAFE and party on dudes!

I remember a guy on SJ who had told me he was sexually abused by a guy when he was at a party.

Aledgedly he was k holed and was abused whilst out of it.

Poor kid.
