First the justification!
been eating veggie for about five years.
Now getting to the point!
got so weak being ill a month back i turned into a meat-atarian
forgive me, veggies!
anyway going back to it soon but to stop another lapse i was wondering if anyone knew of any serious real-deal atomic-power protein supplements-something that really makes up for no meat-otherwise halfway through taekwondo i go faint and nearly spack up harcore! (in summer i nearly fainted enough times!)
help!
Fish, its wat all my friends an family that are veggie eat. I know it kinda defeats the point but tis the best natural source of protein i rekon. Just gotta look at grizzly bears to see that it works.
i would try and avoid the need for supplements by eating properly… you need lots of pulses for protein
me, i rely on bacon and egg
ah well now…
well i was a piscaterian (a veggie who eats fish) for a while but it kinda didnt hit the spot.
and cow-boy…bacon sangas do the trick! i must say eating meat after such a long while is really sortin me out!(even the dalai lama swears by em!)
keep the suggestions flowin’ folks!
optimum…
Simply eggs and Legumes..
Standard and best form of protein for veggies. Soya being of course the most common..
eggs are ok for women, but men shouldn’t eat more than 2 a week due to kind of colesterol that is very unhealthy for men
Hi,
[FONT=helvetica,arial][SIZE=-1]Nuts & seeds, pulses, wholegrain and grain products and soya products all supply protein. You can got soya protein powder from Holland and Barret which is vegan, if you feel that you are lacking protein then you could try some of that on top of your normal diet.
Have you been feeling week throughout the five years you’ve been veggie or has it only started recently? The way you describe feeling after exercise sound like it could be dehydration so make sure you have enough liquid. Also, if you drink and/or drugs then this could be affecting the way you feel.
Eating meat again really isn’t going to increase your protein intake by much, I’m a vegan and have been veggie for years and have felt fucked many a time but it has usually been down to other things, not due to diet. It may be also worth taking a vitamin a mineral supplement to see if that makes any difference.
Take care
John

much thanks everyone!
john,
my weakness seems to come in phases. i thought initially it was down to dehydration as it helped much drinking loads during training in the summer.
i ate meat and the faintness disapeared all together so i came to the conclusion that it must of been my diet.
yeah safe folks! i will try all of the above.

this might be worth a read as well..
loads of vegatables, just chuck em in everything chopped all up. chillies, pastas soups, mash, bakes, everything, lots of nice hot food always seems to keep me going.
I’m eating fish and I feel good. So I guess I’m a half vegy 😉
Look after yourself but try to do the right thing by your beliefs 😉
a pescatarian?
Piscarian?
Vegaquarian (Accepted term)
I’m vegan and haven’t had any problems with my diet, apart from being a bit under weight. If you eat right veganism can be just as healthy as a diet that contains meat and animal products
