  • Verizon is a big telephone company in the USA, similar to BT or Cable and Wireless

This is an actual report from their system explaining why they couldn’t do a repair..

A repair ticket that was dispatched out to the customers location was closed with the notes left “Technician had a gun pulled on him area is unsafe closing ticket”

    come we wont tell…

fucking hell .. thats madness…. shit like that happenes here .. but it’s like OMG “GUN MAN STORMS LONDON RIFE WITH GUNS” .. the way they put it it seems so casual :you_crazy

Thought that was a yankee note?

Verizon also had to replace loads of overhead fibres in January

turns out it was rednecks celebrating new year by discharging firearms into the air

have these idiots not even heard of blank rounds?

    :you_crazy crazy

Verizon is the unbranded US arm of VF in the UK – wish it was branded, cos then I could get a transfer out there.

The notes may seem casual, but it ain’t that different in the UK. London, Manchester, Bristol, Liverpool, Leeds, all have no go areas – often due to Pirates protecting their sites, which often share rooftops with legit mobile operators. All VF engineer’s vans are now unbranded for just this type of occurence…..

yeah that doesn’t surprise me one bit (see my comments in the thread about radio transmitters)

Indeed GL….just after I posted this, I saw that. Made me chuckle…..

Seen a few in my time, and most in my firm know my past. There are quite a few in my industry who supply rather than run pirate stations….
