I am having real problems at kick boxing, i get the worst pain in my shins matt said i could have shin splints he used to get them at football, i was wondering if anyone knew how to get rid of them or to prevent them from happening.
Go to the doctors, it could be summin else:wink:
yea i guess it could i don’t have time to go to the doctors i am too busy.
lilmstrixta, shin splints are nasty and need plenty of rest before a gentle reintroduction to exercise. As caver said, it could be useful to visit your GP and get a referral to see a physio for a correct diagnosis.
Wiki has some useful info covering causes, treatment and prevention of the condition.

You may well need to give them a rest for a while.
Good luck sorting that.

Lots of stretching and massage should help 😉
i do yoga too at home so i strech alot lol don’t get massages though maybe thats what is going wrong.
Yoga is fantastic!! Should be on the national ciriculum.
Get your other half to give you a good rub down 3 times a week, he’ll love it 😉

the only thing has ever helped me when I’ve had em – already mentioned – rest rest rest
? dont know if any anti inflamatories would help – ibuprofen / diclofenac etc
it bloody hurt’s – so sending some sympathy! :group_hug
Used to get them the whole time. This is what the doc told me.There is 1 cure and 1 preventative..
Dont exercise for 6weeks and the shin splints (or periostitis as is called by people in medical world) will fade.
Buy trainers with thick soles and/or avoid hard surfaces when doing kick boxing
ain’t it fucking brilliant we’ve got a doctor to go see for things like this? big up the NHS.
