lilmstrixta, shin splints are nasty and need plenty of rest before a gentle reintroduction to exercise. As caver said, it could be useful to visit your GP and get a referral to see a physio for a correct diagnosis.

Wiki has some useful info covering causes, treatment and prevention of the condition.

You may well need to give them a rest for a while.

    Good luck sorting that.

yeah you should see your gp .. it could be a few things .. bruised bone .. shin splints .. could even of fractured your shin …(alltho you would be in agony if that happened) … go to your doctor .. get an x-ray if you need it … they will know best :group_hug

Yoga is fantastic!! Should be on the national ciriculum.

Get your other half to give you a good rub down 3 times a week, he’ll love it 😉

Used to get them the whole time. This is what the doc told me.There is 1 cure and 1 preventative..

Dont exercise for 6weeks and the shin splints (or periostitis as is called by people in medical world) will fade.
Buy trainers with thick soles and/or avoid hard surfaces when doing kick boxing

ain’t it fucking brilliant we’ve got a doctor to go see for things like this? big up the NHS.
