  • well they have at least put some barbed wire at the bottom of the pole. and just above the last set of 400V 3-phase connections below the 11 000V transformer there’s a tiny sign with a skull and crossbones on it…

    Yikes!

I think UK & Indian health & Safety laws/guidelines should meet somewhere in the middle and we could be on to a good thing.

if you knew what you was doing it would be so easy to steal electrisity from that thing .. alltho if you didn’t and tried you would probably be a real skull at the bottom of the thing :hopeless:

give it a go dafty, i think u have the skills

I would not like to be in that nearby shop in the monsoon season, with high moisture in the air and raining on and off….electrocute me babe’…:laugh_at::you_crazy

I found another pic (it was copyrighted unfortunately) showing the electrician, he was working up the pole in bare feet and only had a rope fixing him to the pole (at least he did have insulated pliers)

and yep lots of people do illegal hookups. Curiously enough in that pic they were using brown and blue cables so they have at least moved on to harmonised EU colours :laugh_at:

still trying to work out where they are getting neutral and earth from as all those service cables are just sending 400v three phase… so they must be using local earth/neutral conductors.

I hope the nearby telephone isn’t metal cased or uses earth signalling :laugh_at:
