looks like all CGI though, no substitute for the real stunts…
a while back when I lived in Reading me and my mates were all getting trashed in someones garden one summer – and we were all up for launching someone in a shopping trolley off the top of a flat roof or tall shed to the ground and filming it (I think K had something to do with these ideas). We even had someone willing to do it!
the only thing what stopped us doing it is we couldn’t find enough old mattresses, empty cardboard boxes and rope – the idea is you put these at the landing zone, so the dude in the trolley doesn’t suffer too many trauma injuries on impact. The boxes are made up and securely lashed together with strong rope – the idea is they contain air and reduce the impact as well…This is called a “box rig”, is made up in various sizes and gets used in a lot of stunts of this nature – normally the camera is angled so you don’t see it….
One of my relatives was on duty at the local emergency dept and books in most of the casualties so I didn’t want to cause him any unwanted extra work – he’s already seen half my mates in on the sunday (he also used to go to college with most of them!) and thats is just when they manage to break themselves at raves in various forms..
