it might make some soldiers chill out, but I’ve seen acid turn hippies and ravers into complete psychos..
I suspect also a lot of this is because this was around the time you had to do national service in this country. Most of those lads didn’t actually want a war deep down in their hearts, everyone was actually shit scared of atomic war (even the Soviet conscripts on the other side!!) and maybe the acid unlocked their real feelings.
Nowadays we thankfully have more of a choice, conscription/NS is long gone from most of our countries -but this means a lot of people who join the Army do want to fight and kill people and see lots of action
If you read the “war diaries” from some troops currently serving in Iraq this makes it clear, when they are joking about beating up and harrassing the local civillians etc, and I am talking about “our” UK troops, not even the US ones!
Give acid to these troops and you are gonna have a fucking bloodbath on your hands.
Actually I wonder how many soldiers currently deployed are stacking up on various drugs before going into battle?
