    Albert Sq, Manchester City Centre, Thurs 29th June – Sun 2nd July

    Calling all budding film-makers, DJs, VJs, MCs, musicians, producers, dancers, writers, photographers and animators! From Thurs June 29th to Sun July 2nd, Albert Square (Manchester) will play host to BBC Blast’s mobile creative studio.

    From 10am until 7pm over the four days there will be workshops on film-making, song-writing, animation, VJ-ing and DJ-ing as well as daily performances featuring exciting new talent from across the region.     AIM06 FESTIVAL FINALE

    Aimhigher Greater Manchester present their Aim 06 festival finale event at Urbis on Saturday 1st July 2006 13.00pm – 16.00pm. The event will be a culmination of two weeks of Aimhigher activities that have taken place across all ten of Greater Manchester’s boroughs.

    To celebrate the work of both the Aimhigher pupils and practitioners Urbis will hold an exhibition of Aimhigher events, projects, activities and initiatives. Aimhigher partners, practitioners, pupils, parents and the public are invited to discuss the ongoing success of Aimhigher throughout Greater Manchester. With music, projection screens, art exhibitions and an array of Aimhigher information, this event will be a perfect platform to not only showcase Aimhigher’s work but also raise its profile.

    Jo Wiggans (Director, Aimhigher Greater Manchester) commented that “Aimhigher is about raising aspirations, encouraging our young people to believe in themselves and their future and reach for the stars. All universities, colleges and schools in Greater Manchester are involved. Together we can make a difference”
