lol i just got a letter through saying ………..About your cold weather payment…….you get a cold weather payment of £25.00 for every week when the average temperature is very cold…… the meterological office tells us which weeks are very cold and we use that information to decide if we should make cold weather payments!
:laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at:

Does this mean that they don’t know when it’s cold.
Why don’t you get everyone to phone in and say they are cold?
Just sit arround with hardly any clothes on, tell em your cold and see if they get it right. If not, you get £25 samackerooonies in yer pocket

Doesn’t it have to be below 7degress c ?
I checked DWP site and I think its when Met Office tell DWP that the weather for the region is less than freezing (0 celsius) either actual or predicted for 7 consecutive days.
What is confusing is they don’t say which weather stations are used for the assessment, and DWP seem to assume claimants are too dumb to understand the basics of science, thus writing their letters in dumbed down language.
For our local region here’s where the monitoring stations are…
