  • i have bipolar disorder so naturally substance abuse comes along with that; at least 70% of the entire population of people who suffer from bipolar have/still do abuse substances.

naw, i’m not talking about the heavy shit like heroween, crack, coke, skittles, whatever. i love to hit the bong and i could be considered a chronic (basically i’ve been stoned everyday since last september, 2014) but i have a new store manager who is very strict and cut my hours down to below part time AKA 15/week. i have no problem saying what i make because HEY it’s a job; $9.32/hour. you do the math and maybe tack on the $100 bonus i get at the end of the month if my performance is up to standard. long story short, i have no money to buy my smokeses. so, i took up prescripts instead.

i have to see a doctor about my medication for bipolar disorder; you’ve heard it once, you’ve heard it a billion times “my meds don’t work, therefore i am not taking them”…well, i am taking my medication as prescribe, well, at least the bipolar meds. i legit have terrible ADHD – i can never finish anything i start except maybe this paragraph. i’ve been on adderall before and it’s a pussy wimp of a medication so i stopped it and then i was prescribed everything else: concerta, vyvanse, you name it…i was probably on it. don’t know if you meth junkies have ever heard of this one though: focalin. it’s allegedly 10x more potent than any other drug on the market for ADHD. since i’m in the midst of a depressive state, i needed a boost to get my mojo back. and low and behold, now we have focalin.

crush em up, sniff it up, and WAKE UP. seriously, i’ve never tried cocaine or crack before but everyone i know who has done focalin says it’s way better than any of that bullshit. plus, the prescription is only $5. that’s right – 5 fucking dollars. why would i spend $250 on an 8 ball when i can walk to my pharmacy and pick up the equivalent of legit meth lab goodies?

please save the bipolar advice – been there, heard that, got the t-shirt.

what do you all think of each of the drugs i mentioned as far as quote abuse goes? adderall, ritalin, or focalin? :big-joint:

Focalin is dex-methylphenidate bud :). Methylphenidate is ritalin and RaD will bee along shortly to hoover up all the speed/tell you all the medications.

    :sexes465:

abusing amphetamines and other phenylamines is pretty easy to do if your supply is large enough and you’re inclined to over use them, if you’ve abused your prior meds then you’ll probably abuse focalin

you know the funny thing is, i never abused my adderall or concerta or anything else. it didn’t even occur to me that i could get high off that stuff. but holy shit is it wonderous. its like psychedelic/crank/omg wtf is going on!?!?! all at once. now mix that with a beer or 6 and some downers and you’ve got yourself a damn good party even if you’re all alone xD

Hey bud I massively aboused amphetamines and other stims, including some other phenidates until I tried 4-Me-TMP/4-MMPH/4-methylmethylphenidate whixch I use perfectly decently, 2 small doses/ day which I eat and sleep fine on. The stuff has seriously improvedmy quality of life and actually looks like m,y psychiatrist may prescribe actual methylphenidate when I see him.

Bipolar could be a gateway to the critical medical conditions such as Scizhoaffective as well as Scizhotypial and elemnts of Psychoticness like my boyfriend has :(.

It’s hard, but I might have the same string due to constant touch in contact.

Very hard to manage and deal with, but it is something we have to adapt and adjust to.

Adderol had a negative impact on my life and ridalin to my boy.

The other one is unknown to me at this time, I might look up on it some more.

yeah, low does of stimulants can do wonders for you as far as QOL is concerned, the basic motivation to do stuff that they provide is wonderful

yea i can totally see where you’re coming from. unfortunately it’s a coping mechanism because TBH all these antipsychotics/bipolar depression drugs (there’s a difference between those and regular depression drugs) never really do the trick. honestly, i am saying this with a clear head – let’s be honest. these drugs are just feeding the pharmaceutical industry because the doctors are all in bed with pfizer and everyone else. they have the worst side effects and it’s no real wonder why so many people with bipolar quit their medication all the time. i am currently being treated but i have days where i can’t get out of bed and then days where i wish i could slow down.

in the end, instead of getting caught in the details, i’d like to look at the whole picture. so i understand how you feel and truly empathize the best way that i can with your boyfriend as well. it’s very hard to deal with this illness and it’s very sad to think that no one really takes mental illness as seriously as they take other illnesses. in no way am i comparing this to cancer or anything but i just saw the other day that susan komens race for the cure for breast cancer has the HIGHEST amount of donations per year. what’s at the bottom of the list of everything to donate to? suicide awareness/mental illness. very sad – i applaud the people who donate to any charity but there is still so much that we just don’t understand about mental illness that we should but no one is researching. ya know?

Stimulants ARE NOT used for bipolar disorder and ythey stand a very good chance of making it worse if you even slightly abuse them or any stims.

idk, if you’re already medicated with an antipsychotic a small dose of a stim would probably help with little risk of psychosis, if you’re unmedicated bipolar during a manic episode and go and rail 100mg of meth or pop 10 adderall tablets and then repeat the action several times then yes it will worsen the problem, but in general just cause the DSM or wiki says they are counter indicated doesn’t mean you can’t combine them intelligently

No it won’t. It won’t help anything other than stimulating them. Same as giving speed to anyone else. They don’t need it and tbh none of the ones I’ve know have been that bad on speed of using it at all.

if you’re lethargic and can’t get out of bed from your other meds then take some speed, if you’re lethargic and can’t get out of bed because you’re in a depressive episode then don’t take some speed

Does that not go for everyone DV? Would it also therefore be reasonable to say that yes, the insane are a bit more at risk then?

certaintly more at risk, i’ll testify to that, especially if they are currently at a greater risk for psychosis at the moment for whatever reason then adding something that bumps up dopamine isn’t going to help

Yeah bud. The risk is pretty slim without pretty heavy and prolonged use but the risk is there.
