  • to hide behind a display at the supermarket, and when someone picks up a pack of meat to make the animal noises associated with the species which is now neatly chopped up and packaged in the plastic container they have picked up?

I’ve always wanted to do this, but been put off by the fact that I’m supposed to have matured a bit, and I can’t really afford to get banned from the village store as it is a primary source of food for me at lunchtime etc…

anyway its too small and there is too much CCTV to get a good hiding place..

people do that here, more in the villages as you get £80 fine if you get caught in town and there is bare CCTV everywhere (and they actually bother to watch it!)

the tesco across the street from our college gets it done all the time

gotta hide your face tho innit, cap on and scarf coverin, hood up if the security guard dont see, head down.

when I lived in Reading people would do random flyposters – not just event posters like you would normally expect but totally random things, photocopied art, poems, even a picture of an alsatian dog

this was long before Banksy etc..

I’m hopeing to do this for Mr Tanks band to start advertising them,

as I’ve seen it becoming popular again in london with myspace (etc) links on…….

how about putting a sticker on to show what’s really in those sausages, or how many peoplehave suffered to get that extra special product on the shelves?

nah, thats what made it stand out! (I’m the sort of person who inspects lost pet pictures anyway just in case I encounter the lost animals when out on my bike)

just a single photocopied picture of a dog, no other message whatsoever, and appeared on only a few walls in town, along with other random stuff in the same style. Maybe the artist was just very proud of their pet..

when you’re shopping at supermarkets open 1 of every item you pick up off the shelf. that way u dont feel bad shoppin there cause they dont profit from u cause they cant sell all the shit u opened!

there were a load of photocopied posters done in a similar style, some did have more arty stuff or political things on them, mostly anti-consumer or hippy slogans. I suspected they were the same group doing them.

Maybe the idea of the dog was that people who wouldn’t normally of look at such art would think “ah, a cute animal picture” and then keep looking at other walls for these sort of things. The dog was a fairly young alsatian, not quite a pup but not yet a big dog.

it looked like some effort had gone into these posters. Sadly this was before the age of affordable digital cameras, or I would have taken a picture of them. I thought they were a good thing and way better than the usual crap flyposted in most cities.

incidentally with todays software and printers it is extremely easy to print out a stock of medium size labels with whatever slogan you wish 😉
