  • Hi,

I have just been given notice on the place I live and have no money for the ridiculous deposits and months rent to move on. If anyone knows of any disused commercial buildings anywhere in London and want to join me in opening one message me here. we could meet up and discuss how to go about doing it and have a look to see how to get in.
    Let me know…

    Hi Yogibear,
Great idea. But I find living in buildings really restrictive. It brings me down. Could we find a park and live off other people’s picnics?
    Booboo

    did…did you reply to yourself?

haha, no I’m his friend and accidentally replied on Yogibear’s account. I made a… booboo 🙂
Wanna live in a squat together? Or a park?

This thread is too much for my simple human brain.

Squat breaking is serious business now days. Also one squat isn’t gonna last you long, you need to always be on the look out for somewhere new AND have a backup in case that one falls though. What your best move would be is to find a group of squatters and travel with them. You should be fine unless they are these stuck up art farty upper crustys.

Best tip I can give you is to break the squat in a subtle way one night so it is open, and then move in the next night and say you found your way in without breaking anything. That’s about it

    Good luck!!

i’ve wondered with squatters… they seem to be peaceful, moral, hippie types, with lots of seemingly thoughtful life values… but squatting seems immoral beyond eating at mcdonalds or buying products that unnecessarily use aluminium… how is this chasm bridged?

I wouldn’t say squatting in and of itself is immoral (if it’s not a residential building and it’s not being used) but what I imagine irks people the most is that a lot of times things get damaged/broken, and it’s the building owner that gets to foot that bill.

good evening mr barrettone, where have you been?

yeah every single squat party I have been to people have scrawled on the walls and damaged pipes/ doors ect. If I squatted I would look after the place and hover once I left.

Nothing is worse than a reptilian squatter if you ask me.

Tbf they keep the insects at bay.

hehe, so you are not smarter than the average bear.

    Thanks for your replies.
Friends and open laptops! Never a good mix… I’ve seen a place that is boarded up, but it is next door to a police station. It seems pretty secure from what I can tell and would need some proper ninja squatters to open it.

    bait

How can it be bait? I’m sure cops have got better things to do than turf out a company, board it up and wait for squatters to try and open it! There was one just up the road too but it was closed down a couple of weeks ago. It’s not bait mate! any way even I wouldn’t have the balls to try this one so I’m still looking.
