I did notice reports of the change but TBH there are a limited amount of stimulant substances all with common chemical bases.. it doesn’t really matter what they use as what the US and UK authorities have done is to make the base chemical classified and then dictate that any chemical derived from it holds the same classification.
Its a catch-all even for stuff which hasn’t been “discovered”!
Other jurisdictions do not as yet have such restrictive laws, but Washington via the UN (and probably trade sanctions and marketing manipulation) is trying to lobby for the world to adopt them
if people can still get “legal” highs its because of lack of enforcement or resources to enforce laws rather than them actually being legal or tolerated; not that much different from illegal drugs although the production quality may be slightly better….
I am unsure TBH even if they are “healthier”.
I suspect the reality is the people who do them have reached the stage where they are more sensible/responsible with regard to their drug use in general, regulate their use better and thus do not binge as much whatever they have taken…
