Which sport do you like to play?

Probably best all around exercise type is swimming.

Although I reckon the UK national sport is actually “keeping up with the paperwork”. It’s like the beauracracy’s try to drown you in endless amounts of printed nonsense. It’s certainly the one I spend most time at.

That and running about trying to patch people’s computers together.

It’s funny, but in the USA, it seems that being the keeper is a much more prized position than it is elsewhere in the world. Guess that’s why in recent years, the premier league’s been the home of Kasey Keller, Tim Howard, Brad Friedel, Brad Guzan & Marcus Hahnemann to name a few. A lot of them seem to model themselves on Peter Schmeichel too, can’t go far wrong there I reckon.

    You mean Brad Gujon lol

If you want goalkeepers, then Lev Yashin, Michael Prude’Hommme and Pat Jennings are the ONLY names to learn about. Lev Yashin wrote the rule book, M.P.H. was just fuckin awesome and Pat Jennings has hands the same size as a brown bears paws hahaha

Yashin was the original superstar keeper mate, a brilliant badass from behind the iron curtain. Preud’Homme for me was never all that, although admittedly it took a piece of absolute magic from David Platt to beat him in 1990. And Pat Jennings was a great keeper, but I still think Schmeichel was better (and the trophy count speaks for itself there).

Schmeichel was good, but he’s no Massimo Taibi or Kostas Chalkias!!!

Ah, Massimo Taibi, the man who made Jim Leighton look like a safe pair of hands – in fact he made Fabien ‘the clown’ Barthez look like a safe pair of hands!

I’ve got more talent in my pubic hair than barthez and taibi put together hahaha

Mate, that’s not difficult really, you’re actually being kinda cruel to the goalkeeping ability of your pubes there!

And whilst we’re talking about comedy keepers at United, here’s some more from the post-Schmeichel, pre-Van Der Sar era – Mark Bosnich, Roy Carroll, Raimond van der Gouw (who wasn’t bad acually), Ricardo, and 2 Andy Goram’s!

    Mark Bosnich…….the eternal cunt.
    Roy Carroll…….enough said.
Raimond Van Der Gouw………crap name lol
    Ricardo……who the fuck is he!?
    Andy Goram………who? hahaha

Ricardo was some Portuguese fella who I think went to Rayo Vallecano or someone like that after a year or 2 at Utd. And Andy Goram was the fella in goal for Scotland when Gazza scored THAT goal at Euro 96. He was hard as fuck, even by Scottish standards and was also schizophrenic, hence the Utd fans chanting ‘2 Andy Gorams, there’s only 2 Andy Gorams!’ One of my favourite ever chants, along with one from Wolves fans a few years ago, who sang at South Korean midfielder Seol ki-Hyeon ‘He’ll shoot, he’ll score, he’ll eat your labrador, Seol ki-Hyeon, Seol ki-Hyeon’. Genius!

Going back to Goram, I’m sure Fizzbombheid has fond memories of him from back when he was the Hibees keeper (and he also played cricket for Scotland too).
