  • Sniffer dogs are becoming more and more common at large festivals, though they most often “spot check (ie. 1 in every 5”)cars on entrance.

    yes

the greedy promoters should stop selling them the tickets. As these dogs are usually non aggressive hound breeds I would be tempted to confuse them by meowing and caterwauling, but that would probably get you suspected anyway. As even in Holland, cats did not think much of multi species carousing and debauchery.

Clearly the lad below with the violin and a grin on his face has the “mooie pillen”, but look carefully at the mother cat in this picture, who is clearly expressing to her kittens the feline equivalent of “dat mag niet”.

Hi everyone, first post here. Me and a few friends went to Happy Mondays in their hometown late December. Unfortunately when our taxi arrived there was a big police presence so whilst getting out of the taxi (should have done this before getting out) I stuffed our bag of rockstars down my pants. When we got through the queue one of the security blokes pointed directly at me and said ‘check him’
So I was pulled aside, which I wasn’t too surprised about as I’m in my 20’s, wearing a bright multi-coloured silky shirt and 6’6. One of them told me he had seen me put something down my pants as soon as i got out of the taxi, so I wasn’t allowed in until I gave it up. Of course I argued my case, said he was mistaken, I didnt have anything and Id very much like to go inside and see the mondays. He called a police officer over with a dog and it had a sniff around until he said I was clear. You can imagine how chuffed I was hearing those words. Although after the officer moved on they stood and said there’s no chance im going in unless i give it up so I finally handed them over. The cheeky fuckers said ‘is that it?’ ..they sounded disappointed!! Little scrotes…im not sure our stash quite made it over to the police van.

Besides losing some quality beans we had been saving particularly for that night, half an hour later we were sorted and they came on to play a fucking mint set.

Just read the second page and to anyone with interest it was the warehouse project venue they played

With the dog failing to sniff you out I imagine it was an untrained decoy (much cheaper obviously) or the dog had been overworked. Their sense of smell is much stronger than our own and they can only be on ‘shift’ a couple of hours before they’ve ‘smelt too much’ and either lose interest or need a rest. Like they need time to process all the extra information (lots of sweaty bodies and different chemicals in a queue). Sort of like how after you’ve done too much E or psychedelics and afterwards even if still on the physical afterglow you may feel mentally drained from all the additional visuals and audio information.

Welcome to the site by the way.

Police dogs are trained like this- They take a ball and put whatever they want the dogs to go after on the ball. So if it were marijuana they would make the ball smell like MJ and then use that ball to play(all being done when the dog is a puppy). This makes the dogs want that ball but they only want the one the smells of MJ.

I learned this from a guy named Barry Cooper(he’s an retired American narcotics officer in Texas) , I watched his set of videos on YouTube on how to not get caught with an illegal substance. I don’t know how well this would work for MDMA because I don’t know if it has a great enough sent to train the dogs to.

To be honest MDMA has quite a distinct smell even to humans so a dog would have no problem detecting it.

The Police in the UK would not bother with a decoy dogs, as it would have to be trained anyway and that resource could be better deployed for a GP dog (general purpose).

when there was no airwave radio I could work out from the scanner traffic what the resourcing budget was and a dog was worth two CID (they would take the detectives off shift so they could afford the dog unit as they could not pay both).
