true… I’ve been used to being judged that way myself TBH as I am Asian and sometimes (particularly in the present climate) people initially think you are either gonna rob them or spontaneously explode whilst chanting from the Koran…
but thats why I got into raves as they were initially at least all about different people having fun together.

You don’t need to be a pushover but there’s no need to be always wanting to bully/dominate people or have some big ego. But to some people that seems part of the “fun”.
My last post may have seemed anti garage music, but I used to like it myself and saw how the bad drove out the good – the gangs who had been forced out of other sorts of urban music decided to claim that scene as their own. a mate of mine was a producer of garage as well as D&B – but even gave up his music as the events were becoming violent and unsafe.
it wasn’t even going unnoticed by the DJ’s, promoters and punters but many people actually seemed to like the “rough” edge, the “hustler” mentality. violence can be dangerously seductive.
Ever read the book “lord of the flies”? if you are younger the teachers may have made you sick of it by making it your coursework, but forget about school etc and read it for the message its giving across – something worth remembering if you are going to get involved in activities with large groups..
