right im gonna be doing 9 months work experience, but is purely voluntary and money situation is gonna be real tight. And i cant live off my overdraft. The work is 9-5 mon to fri. Would i still be able to gain some sort of allowance? If anyone knows that would be a real help. Cause the google was useless. Cheers guys.

you can claim JSA and still do voluntary work, but you need to be able to attend a job interview within 24 hours and take any job that you are offered. also, if you are claiming JSA for more than 6 months, you have to go on back to work courses, which are shit

Raver you could try being self employed,I think there are allowances available then, without any of the back to work shit.

As you at uni, wouldn’t you have a careers advisor who could give you a bit of advice on it?

maybe, i could give it a look into. And the work experience has to be part of a known conseravtion agency. Most of which will only offer voluntary work placements.
