maybe you are looking in the wrong direction – quality and price of drugs from foreign sources tends to increase the closer you get to the coast; which from my admittedly limited knowledge of the North (I initially thought the entire region Tryptameanie lived in was actually in Scotland) is only 20-30km from where you may be.
Because of its origin, illegality and the risks involves good quality is always going to cost and availability can be sporadic (as getting caught dealing it results in 5-7 years in the can). Also Lancashire and its inhabitants (even the hippies) always try to portray themselves as more “middle class/upmarket” than Manchester and has double standards over drugs culture; much like where I live in the East of England.
