  • …that religion and spirituality are to be discussed under the same banner, I didn’t think they had anything in common.

its fair to say there complete oppisites.
i reckon modern life could be put into the 3 separate collumns being Science Religion and Spirituality.
Religion.imo.is a load of bollocks at the end of the day…
but when thers links formed between Science and Spirituality some amazing discoveries are made.
i dont know if anyone watched that proggramme on channel 4 a week or so ago, about the quantumn theory and the ‘eleven dimensions of reality’, but i did and i think its great that scientists are working hard out there to find the answers of stuff that, 50 years ago, would have been labelled Insane .

your right spirituality should be under introductions? or mabey music? prehaps we could move spirtuality so tis under adverts?

I think to some people though, these 3 could all fall under the same category. Afterall many people’s spirituality and morality is created and inspired by their religion.

With this in mind, there could be a better forum sub category set to better benefit all sorts of people specifically, although there never would be one right set for everyone.

To me, as It is now, is fine. I understand what I mentioned in the first paragraph, and I have no problem discussing the first categories, and being less inspired by the 3rd. Who is to say what the right sub sections for this forum should be anyway, maybe the person who decided it as it is now, was a a religious person themselves?

of course they are similar things in this context, and they do belong in the same section imho

anyway, you can’t get much more spiritual than buddhism 😉

I’d always thought that religion is just a form of spirituality and morality on which a group of people agree (or at least give lip service to )…. All religions do include a spiritual element after all (even catholicism has a mantra that goes “in nomine patris, et filii, et spiritus sancti” – holy ghost sounds fairly spiritual to me…)

For the record this thread was started in a ‘tongue in cheek’ manner.

Of course there is a connection between religion and spirituality.

Sadly, not all, but a lot of religion seems hellbent on usurping the power of spirituality for it’s own ends.
