  • Dance Valley Festival 2006, “The Weekender”: presents the line up!

Purmerend, Holland, 23 March – The weekend of 14 till 16 July will be for many people the year’s coolest red-letter days: these three dates mark Holland’s only multi-day dance festival, being run for the second year in succession. This year’s Dance Valley The Weekender comes with an unbeatable line-up of 195 acts spread over the two festival days. News of the ultra-successful 2005 double offering flashed to all corners of the world, and from the reactions streaming in since then it’s clear that this next dance holiday weekend in Spaarnwoude is set to attract a mega-crowd. This is helped by a recent decision to reduce the weekend ticket price by 10 euros. This ticket covers two days of music and two nights’ stay at the festival. Also, to get the mega-crowd spinning, there’s nothing less than a mega-act on the Friday!

Dance Valley is proud to announce the appearance of the greatest act in the dance world – The Prodigy – on the Friday, with at least 90 minutes of stunning performance! Any dance fan knows that this British stage sensation guarantees a rave show that is going to keep the 15,000 campers bouncing on their air beds well into the night.

On Friday, there will be nine theme areas: Hard Area, Eurogrooves, In-Tec, Loveland, Club, Chill, Entrance, Electronation and Silent Disco. For anyone who maybe can’t sleep after this musical barrage, there’s a sensational night programme on offer that includes the Silent Disco, a 24-hours pub and a game area. The campsite is at crawling distance from the festival grounds and has all mod cons, including a supermarket, camping shop, lots of food and drink stalls, and prime shower-blocks.

Saturday sees the theme areas expand to fourteen: Mainstage, Hard Area, L.E.F., Eurogrooves, Concept, Subliminal Sessions, Loveland, Circo Loco, Electronation, Chill, Entrance, Talent, and Silent Disco. The fourteenth is a surprise that will be revealed later on!

The past months, thousands of e-mail enquiries have poured in, and lately this has become a total deluge. Especially from abroad. Now sales are starting, a huge run on tickets can be expected. Toilets, parking and shuttle buses are free. Anyone wanting to be sure of not missing out on this fantastic dance weekend can buy tickets from this moment on. Day tickets for the Saturday cost 62.50 euros and tickets for the complete weekend cost 85 euros.

    Prodigy :horay: :horay: :horay:

Really need to go one year soon, looks brilliant.

My sis an her man aren’t gonna make it to DV this year coz of the date change its the weekend after T in the Park and there’s no way they can make it to both…. Bummer

However the line up this year so far apart from the Prodigy of course doesn’t look as good as previous years.. this could be down to the date change as well, that the majority of the main acts already had commitments..

Still I’m sure it’ll be a belter for all those that make it over… :horay:

DANCE VALLEY THE WEEKENDER: Spectacular addition to line up

Purmerend, May 1st – According to the international DJ elite, he is the best of the best! Renowned for marathon sets so good they are almost scary; he condenses a huge variety of dance styles into one hypnotic whole. After a lengthy absence in the Netherlands, it is quite remarkable that this deejaying world traveller will touch down in Spaarnwoude to show off his unparalleled turntable skills. Mark your calendars: on Friday, the 14th of July, one of the world’s best DJs will make his way to a 6 hour performance at the ‘Be Yourself Area’. UDC is honoured to finally be able to put an end to all the rumours and confirm that yes, none other than Danny Tenaglia will be appearing at Dance Valley Festival, The Weekender.

Brooklyn native Tenaglia has been deejaying for 30 years and is widely regarded as the founding father of the deep, stirring tribal house. Raised on Motown soul and Giorgio Moroder disco, he was bitten by the DJ bug at the age of 12. Having started out in 1990, he and his cohorts Masters At Work, Junior Vasquez and Frankie Knuckles have since become icons of the New York dance scene. His debut album ‘Hard & Soul’, which was released on Tribal Records in 1995, is considered the first major achievement in his impressive career, followed by a seemingly endless series of compilations on various labels, including the classics ‘London’ and ‘Athens’ on Britain’s Global Underground and ‘Back To Basics’ on React.

His 1993 remix of Daou’s ‘Surrender Yourself’ really put Tenaglia on the map as a producer, and a year later he was invited to remix Madonna’s ‘Human Nature’. With residencies in New York clubs including Twilo, Tunnel and Paradise Garage, Tenaglia has reached superstar status on the home front. His label Twisted is internationally acclaimed, and the new millennium has seen him rise to fame as a DJ in Europe, too. The New Yorker is no stranger to the studio, judging from the long list of over 200 productions and remixes for artists including Janet Jackson, Cher, Blondie, Pet Shop Boys, Michael Jackson, Depeche Mode, Yoko Ono and Jamiroquai. All things considered, it really should come as no surprise that Danny Tenaglia is the proud owner of a Dancestar Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dance Valley will be held this year during the weekend of 14 and 15 July. For more information please visit: http://www.udc.nl & http://www.dancevalley.com
