Wonder where you sign up to this dream job :bounce_g:

Do you need a job or do you just like watching PORN? Danish club advertises ‘dream job’ with £2,350 salary to watch 20 hours’ of adult films a week… but is it true? – Bar in Denmark is looking for a person to watch porn for 20 hours a week
    – Successful applicant to be given a computer, DVDs and private work space
    – But while it may sound like a publicity gimmick, owners insist it’s ‘serious’
    – Applicant will be known as ‘Porn Jay’, and put together mix of audio clips
On a salary of £2,350, it’s unsurprising that thousands have already applied

It would need to be some kind of sick shit to keep me entertained 😉

this isn’t a new thing. In the 1980s P&T/TDC and Televerket put up a satellite for Scandinavia (although it could be used across most of Northern Europe and the former Soviet countries) which was known as Tele-X.

Its official declared channels were the usual channels for DK, NO and SE (many of which are a lot less shy about showing nudity and sexual content at least after around 22:00 when small kids are supposed to be in bed) – and there were (and always are) smalller scale channels on satellites which can transmit anything deemed legal by their nations Communications Ministry.

In Europe only Ofcom UK and Rozkomnadzor (sp)? of Russia regulate both the content and tech side; most other countries will only check the broadcaster is using the correct transmitters, sound level etc. So there were quite a few adult channels on sat long before the Internet. Some were encrypted but the schemes used were relatively easy to crack.

As an adult movie in Britain was once called “X-rated”; Brits picked up on the (unintentional?) double entendre of the sat being named Tele X and it became associated with porno until the late 1990s (the accu in the satellite reached end of life so it is moved into graveyard orbit to avoid crashing into its replacement).

Broadcast satellites are also known as “birds” (from American slang and gun culture; as if you want to target a satellite with your dish (to watch TV or transmit data) it must be very well aimed) – there was also a “Eutelsat Hot Bird” which once carried a lot of adult channels from Italy (today these have been replaced by Muslim channels in Arabic).

TBH from what I have learned about DK’s attitude to broadcasting and media; its quite likely the job is well paid because it involves checking that the films are both compliant with domestic laws and standards – possibly including reporting to Politi or PST wrong content (which could include kinderporno or violent extreme stuff that would make even the most liberal minded on here uneeady) and converting content that has been shot at 29,997 or 30 frames per second to 25 frames per second whilst keeping the sound in sync.

At best it would be tedious; at worst people end up having to have counselling after seeing certain stuff…
