FACT:
Driving whilst stoned causes you to undergo huge amounts of stress because unlike alcohol, you are fully aware of the fact you are stoned, and know that it is not a good idea to drive. Because of this stoned drivers DO drive slower and so are less likely to crash than drunk drivers, however both cannabis and alcohol have a very similar effect on the brain as far as reactions are concerned and so you are still more likely to crash than a sober person.
For Example:
Remember the amazed look on your face when you actually caught the fag packet you mate threw to you across the room, followed by the silence as everyone acknowledges what a good catch it was.
WOW aren’t you amazing, you caught a fag packet probably thrown no more than 2 meters! Try doing it when sober, believe me, it’s not THAT amazing!
Driving requires massive use of co-ordination; you use both legs and both hands. Think of what you do when you change gear……Ease off accelerator while also depressing clutch…take your left hand(or right) off the steering wheel… move the gear lever from one gear to another… then while putting your hand back on the wheel raise your left foot off the clutch and press the accelerator down and drive on, and you do this all without looking at your hands and feet just the road ………and remember at this point you think catching a fag packet is amazing !
Basically we have all done it, stoned, pilled up, coked up, or just really mashed up on anything. But at the end of the day we know really deep down that it’s not the best idea, people die in car crashes and lives are ruined, don’t let a bit of a smoke make you another statistic.
