TBH there are a number of issues here

a basic economics lesson : its clearly the case the amount of active ingredient in most pills is being reduced as the street price drops – the extra business costs associated with lost resources to law enforcement activity (stuff being seized, people going to jail) stilll have to be swallowed up somehow, and if the profit level is to remain the same in a now low-cost commodity quality must be reduced to conserve the expensive stuff like MDMA.

however if everyone abandons pills because they are completely inert then it would kill the market for everybody; already they are becoming way less popular.

there is also the fact that young teenagers who take them for the first time will obviously have a more novel mindset and enjoy them more than gnarled old-skool ravers who now old enough to be the parents of the younger users..

OTOH if todays teens had access to pills that were around 15 years ago but took them in the numbers consumed today I expect the NHS would end up burying young bodies like they buried cows and sheep in the foot and mouth days, whilst UN troops attempted to restore some semblance of order on the streets of Britain. Even with todays rubbish ones some kids take so many they suffer fairly serious (if thankfully short-term) mental and physical health problems.

however I think the people fighting after taking pills is more a problem due to an increasingly violent angry society than the drugs themselves.

I have heard Scots friends describe people who would “start a fecht in an empty hoose” – if they take pills the drug will simply amplify their feelings of anger; in the same way electronic equipment will amplify noise and interference if not initially provided with a good clean signal.

neither is such behaviour confined to Scotland, a young Londoner killed a rival after taking pills, despite his claim in court “he did not like them as they made him violent”

definitely, we have actually got an active thread on at the moment about some dodgy pills in London which may actually be dangerous.

if anyone is feeling particularly unwell after taking anything then (particularly if they needed any form of medical treatment or were behaving in an odd manner such as a normally peaceful person becoming aggressive) please also post as much detail as possible – appearance of pills, country, and approximate region.
