Its actually run by the same lot as Talk to Frank in England, albeit with a bit more local info presumably provided by NHS Scotland. Understandable as local slang terms would be in Scots, and usage patterns may be different
Normally I’m a bit wary about linking to local govt and cop sites; but in this case this is a central government server where the IT staff will do little other than note the fact that we have linked to them (which may not be a bad thing).
Incidentally, NHS Scotland have, thankfully and rightly, taken over from the prohibitionist NGO “Scotland Against Drugs” which has had its funding removed and will be closed down (their staff have been offered NHS posts)
This group is best known south of the Border for harbouring failed cop, failed parent and failed anti-drugs campaigner Paul Betts who tried campaigning in your country after being discredited in England.
This happened around the same time as Partyvibes birthday incidentally – I thought it was a welcome extra birthday present TBH – a victory for common sense.
Incidentally, the link to the Scottish Executive is political correctness and a bit of a smokescreen.
Although Scotland can suggest local drugs policy changes; ultimate responsibility for drugs laws (unlike other laws?) still rests with Westminster – in the event of a disagreement Westminsters’ decision is final and devolution (at least for this issue) is suspended!
