i would put yes .. but all people however intelligent can be evil .. so i dont think it will make a differance …as they will just be able to cover up what there doing better

bear in mind that most of the current world leaders (OK, perhaps apart from Dubya 😉 ) already have high levels of academic and professional qualifications.

Three of the last four Prime Ministers (Thatcho, Blair and Brown) were educated to degree level or beyond. Although John Major initially wasn’t “the sharpest tool in the box” and left high school with only 3 O’Levels, he succesfully went into further education to learn about banking and accountancy.

Sounds a bit too much like brave new world for my liking.

As said by DF, it sounds good in theory but in practise, not so much. I’m sure the most intelligent person could have the most unorthodox, radical views which do f’all for society.

Nearly all the “bad” leaders in the foreign countries (with less democratic régimes) and many irregular/extremist combatants globally have the highest standards of academic education worldwide; equal to and in some cases well above those that of the leaders of the Nordic countries and Angela Merkel (who is herself very smart).

Add to this the tech company leaders who have as much power if not more than some nation states.

We already have a lot of smart people competing with each other globally for resources, control of markets etc and that has put the world in a dangerous place.
