It is now the year of the Red Fire Dog – Happy New Year to all our users worldwide. Some of you in Asia will already be celebrating (and will only see the message when they wake up tomorrow) – I am going to a relatives house for a large family dinner later tonight.
yesterday my mum and sister went to the Chinese store in Whitley, they came back with alll sorts of stuff
Interestingly though a lot of Chinese dumplings and meat products appear to be made in Britain now using high quality local ingredients, more so than a in a supermarket – perhaps the way to support your local farmers is to eat more Chinese food!
You can find a Chinese store in most areas of the UK, there’s a huge one in Swansea and loads in London. They sell lots of other Asian produce from SE Asia which can be hard to find elsewhere. Don’t be worried about buying “strange” food as all the packages are marked in English as well as local languages – although we did find a tin of rambutan juice from Thailand branded “Cock on the Hill”!
