Unreal film/book about Jim Carroll growing up in Manhattan in the 60’s and his experiences with experimenting with drugs to becoming a full-fledged heroin addict. powerful film adaptation, really worth a watch. ‘Candy’ with heath ledger is a really good one too.

Anyone got any other good film suggestions?

Yeah i’ve seen it, it’s alright leonardo is decent in it init :laugh_at:

To be honest though i’d never watch it again.

the 2 best heroin films are Trainspotting and requiem for a dream. I can watch them easily twice a year and they always have a big effect on me… especially Requiem that film makes me feel fucking twisted after….

i watched it for the first time a couple months ago and have watched it again and again at least five times, just can’t get enough of his acting in it, its so good, especially that scene with him begging his mum for money at her door. ah yea i like requiem for a dream too, know what you mean about feeling twisted after, that scene when marion goes to that ‘sex party’ to get drugs is one of the most disturbing scenes in any film. ever

Yep seen the above 4 films, defo candy and trainspotting

drug store cowboy is brilliant, love matt dillon in it, v sexy
A scanner darkly is good but not heroin,

Unsure why that posted twice! yea drugstore cowboy, that’s a good one too, i love all those old 90’s-esque films. will have to check out those other two. Totally off-topic but my own private idaho is good too, by the same director as drugstore cowboy

yes!! and ‘over the edge’ (70’s drugs ) and I liked ‘the outsiders’ but thats more fighting then drugs

awesome i’m def gonna watch those two as well, got lots of free procrastination time to fill between now and going home for easter!
