wow thats a simple question with a complex answer…

firstly you need to know what time noise is reportable locally; here when it is after 10pm it should be quiet so as to not disturb neighbours; not sure re. england

next up is where is the hall sited? middle of houses, apart from other buildings, etc?

what is the building made of?

as a basic rule of thumb the sound outside the hall with the doors shut should not be louder than a boiling electric kettle after about 10pm so as to not disturb people in their homes [BTW that is a surprisingly loud noise]

i will find the link on noise put out locally for you and post it later on today; too tired to look now

and if i forget to wish you a happy birthday later – have a good one

if you send flyers and such warning neighbours that you havin a party their a lot more friendly about when you stop and will usually complain them selves instead of callin the ob and then you can generally jus turn it really quiet instead of bein made to pack up

we put a night on in a really small village right in the middle of the village and carried on till 2am at full volume, 2k rig but was still thumpin turned it down a bit at 2 an about 25past a neibourgh came and asked asked if we could turn it down, we turned it down so he cudnt hear it outside and satyed till 3 without any police or other complaints

just be nice to people an warn them its, easier than havin old bill turn up with sum shit about unlicenced events an such

Yeh the hall is near some houses that got put up this winter so i dont know any of the guys that live in them. Only problem is that they are big new houses and from personal experience these can be the worse sort of people for complaints etc. Oh well hope it goes ok wish me luk and cheers for the advice.

if that venue is where I think it is it is licensed until 01:00 on Saturdays for recorded and live music.

If you look on your councils website and licensing section there are details of the PELs for all licensed venues in the area! (I’d rather not link to a council website from here for security reasons).

this appeafrs to be two standard conditions for the venues…

    Quote:
Prominent, clear notices shall be displayed at [all exits / in the beer garden] requesting that customers respect the needs of local residents and leave the premises and the area quietly.

Noise emanating from the premises as a result of regulated entertainment shall not be clearly audible at the boundary of any adjacent residential property.

Right then, got it sorted. think i will be going raving afterwards cause i couldnt deal with stopping that early.:horay:
