  • I had a buddy of mine that said it once took him 3 days to feel normal after a pretty monumental binge. He had consumed just under 3 grams in a span of 22 hours and was beyond the point of no return. I have heard others bouncing back within 6 – 7 hours, but not after shooting up that much H.

How long have you been doing it? Do you have to wake up in the night to get a fix so you can go back to sleep?

I never really developed a taste for H. I had saw what it had done to my friend and I backed off. He had said there were many nights that he needed a fix and that he had been up jonesing.

If you are regularly waking up in the middle of a night’s sleep to get a fix then you will definitely get withdrawals as it is withdrawal that wakes you up.

If you are not, then either cut right back or stop before it’s too late.

If I’m in a daily using pattern and smoking as my ROA then within about 1 hour of last dose I will begin to feel a warm fuzz of pain and anxiety come over me.

Back in early usage of Opiates I used to go to bed feeling good and wake up still feeling on top of the world. That quickly went.

Usually you can start to feel the onset of sickness after about 12 hrs without, you start yawning, you become weak as fuck, as it progresses you get so tired and drowsy, and ache with restlessness and in the legs, but you cannot sleep. it slowly gets worse and worse. the 3 day is usually at its peak, it takes about 5 days to get over it all.

I am going to start drug rehab next month and detox in 2 weeks. I’m very nervous about the withdrawals from herion (they are bad when I go a day – but once I get over that hurdle, the rest will be okay). I hear that the Canadian Centre For Addictions (Inpatient Drug & Alcohol Rehab Treatment Centre in Toronto) is one of the best in Toronto for inpatient treatment, so I am excited and I hope I can stay clean after my 3 month program is done. I was thinking about going into a sober living house once I finish my program, does anyone know of any in Toronto that they would be able to recommend?

It really varies as said. Personally, the first couple months aint shit. I dont think you actually get sick after the first three months but I never did any pills or other opiates b4 shooting dope. After the first 3 years into a binge the sickness really starts to get bad. Every symptom of withdraw goes from a 7 to a 9 and the thought of death is real in your mind. At this point sickness comes on after 6-8 hours for me. But the quality of dope is a factor as well. We call it ‘legs’, some dope has a great rush but no legs on it. Other dope has great legs on it but a weak rush, if it has legs you got 8 and as much as 10 hours. By the 6th year it gets about as bad as it ever will. Withdraw is at a full 10 and without medical assistance you are fully incapacitated the symptoms are so bad. This point is arrived at by 24 hours since my last fix. If you got $ and /or slingin dope, tolerance gets so high the habit is between 200-500 USD a day and sickness begins to come on at just 4 hours. This has been my experience.

It all depends on tolerance and frequency of use. 4 hours for a heavily addicted person and up to 24 hours for someone with a small habit. I have been junking out for over 15 years and it started with the Percs and now I graduated to a full blown junkie slamming one down every 2 – 3 hours. I have battled this demon for a long time and is the stupidest thing I have ever done to myself. The sickness is so severe its almost impossible to kick when you have responsibilities that you can’t just run away from for 6 months (Yes that’s the minimum time to start feeling somewhat better but by no means even close to being out the woods). The dope has consumed my life so much I started a blog with a treatment and meeting finder to hopefully help someone like myself get the help they need. I go ramble on for hours about this horrible addiction but I think i’ll save it for another post 🙂 You can see my blog at Help for Drug Addiction to Prescription Drugs, Heroin, Opiates and Alcohol hope it helps someone who is suffering like myself.
