  • I noticed that over the weekend – not 100% sure how good the book written by a middle class Berlin hipster that is being plugged as there have been others more detailed ones written on the same subject,

Although as touched upon in the article the German population were already heavy users of any stimulant they could get and with minimal prohibition/regulation predating the Nazi-era. Across Europe all prohibition was suspended in WW II and stimulants widely made available to troops, civillians and politicians alike.

The British and Soviets used as much amfet as the Axis soldiers, in fact Pervitin got bought up by the Soviet countries and is mentioned on other sites as a widely diverted drug during the cold war era up until 1980s when it was replaced with newer stims some of which became popular NPS.

That said this should be discussed in Europe today especially with the findings a lot of AfD supporters or even then other hard right parties appear to be burned out German ravers from my age group, as soon as the party drugs wear off and the comedown kicks in it makes them worse. One of the head right wing politicians actually has a criminal record for drugs importing (I think he was the one who crashed his car into a tree or post whilst driving like a twat and got rescued by a busload of refugees) :laugh_at:

BTW the dude who made this had to get it past the censors when “degenerate swing music” was banned – what do you think might motivate folk to listen to music like this even in the middle of a war with bombs landing everywhere? 😉
