Erowids design might well make the site look like it is 20 years old; but there is still new data being added fairly regularly.

Unless your ISP/mobile network is using some devious filtering (very unlikely unless the network records show you as potentially below age 18 and usually this site would be blocked as well) a google search should also bring up other info about any substance you are curious about.

Check the spelling of whatever you are looking for carefully; another big confusion source is that industrial/applied chemists and pharmacists use different naming conventions for the same substances; plus Europe and USA also spell the names of substances differently.

if I use my work contract phone (EE which is a combination of British Telecom and T-Mobile) I have no issues getting to .org; but on some prepaid SIM cards on the other O2 network in the UK I intermittently get age filter warnings (though there are various easy ways of bypassing this).

The reason the drugs and cybersex forums got hidden to new users (which is very recent) was because folk from all across the world were posting stuff that was illegal in at least one country where this site is popular (even if it might not have been illegal in their country) or they were underage – we did not want them to get into trouble or the site blocked for other folk in their country.

It isn’t illegal anywhere to research info about substances; TBH a lot of our data comes from erowid, bluelight and other forums anyway but the community here adds simpler explanations/clarifications to any more complex terms and translates anything that may be in languages other than English (at least European ones).

Can understand the reasoning, or stated reasoning, but I don’t really believe it I have to say. I think it does more good than harm but I am still a biased observer and hope Dr B doesn’t mind my small mutiny now and again.
