Guess what!??? I managed to get more without getting any alcohol. This means tonight will be the first time i got through a who 24 hours without booze. I have two 2l bottles of Irn-Bru and a massive bar of chocolate to help get me through this. I feel this could be the first day of many.

    feeling: positive

That’s excellent mate, really well done. If we ever meet I’ll get you a pint of coke 🙂

Sorry for the confusion, I didn’t mean a pint of liquid 🙂

    haha

This will be my second day in a row without drinking. When i work up this morning I felt as if i had a hangover and was trying to remember what i done last night, Like it could of been so simple as to finish work, eat dinner , watch a movie and go to bed. I actually can’t believe i have gone this long without a drink! Just think of how i’ll feel one week down the line or even a month?

You’re doing excellent mate, seriously well done.

I know how hard this can be, I drink pretty much every day but wouldn’t say I have a problem with it, I used to have a drug problem but moved away for a while and now I’m all good. you will only stop if you truly want to stop for yourself. I wish you the best of luck buddy

Create a vision board or something you can focus on each day to remind you of what you want to achieve. Remember to state your goals positively not negatively, Don’t keep too much alcohol in the house. Only buy as much as you intend to drink in one evening or the temptation to overdo it may be too strong to resist.et a notebook and start to become really aware of how much you’re drinking together with the calorie count…and cost Try a relaxing bath, soft music. Phone a friend. Try out yoga, meditation, tai chi or…knitting.

Talk to your doctor. If you choose to start the path to recovery alone, bear in mind that alcohol withdrawal can potentially be deadlyChange your attitude about quitting. Remember, you’re not being forced to give up a good friend who has treated you well.Try to pick some significant date to quit. Be ambitious, but reasonable. If you are very heavy drinker you must first slow down to avoid withdrawal symptoms .
