  • ive got a van. any one fancy it??

    anyone else?

wont ur van be full by now?

    always room for one more!!

    Yes I’m considering it too,

But do I need an international driving liscence?

I dont think I could handle frecnh driving?

I think you can drive in any EU nation on your UK license, thats why there are 12 stars on your photocard and it is also in French etc…

the only difference I can think of are that French people drive on the other side of the road (a basic diffrence but easy to forget whilst tired which is why a lot of foreign drivers prang when over here)

there is also a “diamond” thing on road signs for priority (which Britain doesn’t have) and its worth checking what this means. Contrary to popular misconception the French aren’t that much worse drivers than in Britain (well the ones I knew weren’t) and do have some sense of self-preservation..

if you don’t feel 100% confident though then don’t risk it. Bear in mind also a UK registered car full of young people sticks out like a sore thumb when it comes to cops and roadside checks, and although penalties for drugs, motoring offences etc are no harsher than in England, if caught you may get euro-bailed and have to return to the country at your own expense or even risk being breached by UK cops, and have to serve custody in two countries!

    Didn’t realise you had a van Acidmunkey…

Is it big enough to hold a moderately sized soundsystem? (>3 ton) If so you might be able to earn yourself a fair few bob for your driving if I put you in touch with a mate from Norwich.

    Let me know,

    ez

Take care in built-up areas where the old rule giving priority to traffic coming from the right (Priorité à droite) still applies unless a yellow diamond indicates you have priority.

just got this off a site….
