i shall pass you over to my good friend wikipedia because i cant type all that on this shitty keyboard lol
A benzodiazepine (pronounced /ˌbɛnzɵdaɪˈæzɨpiːn/, sometimes colloquially referred to as a “benzo”, and often abbreviated in the literature as a “BZD”) is a psychoactive drug whose core chemical structure is the fusion of a benzene ring and a diazepine ring. The first benzodiazepine, chlordiazepoxide (Librium), was discovered accidentally by Leo Sternbach in 1955, and made available in 1960 by Hoffmann–La Roche, which has also marketed diazepam (Valium) since 1963.[1]
Its called benzo fury because the chemical name has “benzofuranol” or something similar in it so instead of just calling it 6-APB somebody though it would be cool to call it Benzo Fury instead of actually engaging their brain and realising how easy it is to mix that up with another, pre-existing drug(s).
benzodiazepines all have the benzine ring (about a simple a ring structure as you could imagine, 6 carbons in a ring, each with a single hydrogen bond).
There are MANY ways of describing any compound, but you can start anything containing this ring with “benzo—“
That the world has known benzo to mean benzodiazepines and naming a drug after it is idiotic. But then we’re all talking about it, upping the hit rate on the net, and doing all their publicity for them, so we’re the joke really…
That said, I can see deaths from this mix up, especially as you can buy the benzos in powder form now or soon.

the trouble i think is someone somewhere (prob without access to the sort of info on here and other harm reduction sites) is gonna take one or the other thinking its something its not ie. 6-apb thinking its gonna mong them out n then start climbing walls (or vice versa)
I doubt there will be fatalities, but a few people getting nasty surprises.
the current relatively high price of real 6-APB might well encourage people be a bit more careful (you very rarely for instance see coke being mistakenly sold in place of amfetamine, even by the sketchiest of dealers).
not even sure if 6-APB is going to kill that many people either, despite having the potential to be more toxic than MDMA – after all this was the issue with mephedrone and there weren’t that many direct fatalities!
if it actually turns out to be any good (and even that is debatable) its more likely to cause a rise in acquisitive crime (just like 1991-1995) as the low income and unemployed decide they aren’t prepared to miss out on the fun despite an economic depression – and of course there’s the psychological effects of regular use and comedowns on peoples mental health..
I know nothing about 6-APB, really not my thing at all, but I know that the black market chinese supplier lists just added benzos (old ones) to their lists in 20kg drums at 98% purity, which means black market counterfeiters and high end drugs labs have them now and another 6 months before the breakdown in min quantity orders through overflow ordering means they are hitting pill pressers and the street in bags mixed with various junk. The likes of Alprazolam or Nitrazepam hitting the street with benzo as a name too is dangerous IMO.
Speculation, but a mix up of drugs can be dangerous in the extreme, this I know through education in theory, and personally more importantly one f**king horrible personal experience which I’d never wish on anyone. A very near miss – the mushroom community nearly lost a comrade!

^ yeah, this! But as I said, all we’re doing is advertising their products for them through discussion, notoriety works wonders for salesmen.

true but without the information available people cant know what they are taking surely it is better to discuss it and bring whats going on to the surface rather than ignore it and sweep it under the carpet

Discussion also works wonders for cops, HMRC, Trading Standards to work out where stuff has been coming from. certain people who were on here a year or so ago being muppets trying to blatantly sell mephedrone came unstuck big time…. and in no way did this forum collaborate with any authorities, it didn’t have to, these people basicallly “grassed themselves up!”
^ lost a large reply through shitty net access, but very quickly, it’s a classic trade-off, which is really sad. Forums like allow for peer review of advice as well as the community aspect, which is vital, but allow for the less talented policemen and gvnmt researchers to quickly get skewed input for their papers and give them all the ammo they need for a temporary and personal agenda usually to form a personal career. (I’d like to quickly add I work in harm reduction consultancy, and have great respect for the police on the ground, they do a great job as individuals, I’m not anti policeman, just anti the-whole-thing)
What is absolutely wrong is that the dealers are the most knowledgeable and influential people in a user’s life. As a community we can do better, and a forum like this is awesome for that. Take power away from the people with a financial interest, and at least into a semi-public domain.
