just to let you know lol……….

    GOD DAM MONGOLIANS!!!!!! >.<

    LOL

    xie xie

I learnt some cantonese when I was younger off my best mate, but mainly she taught me swear words and greetings, I unfortunatley cant remember much now,
nei ho or lei ho (pronounced ne ho or lay ho) is hello.
    Useful Cantonese phrases

Ahh that’s the same in mandarin “nǐ hǎo” … pronounced “ni how” if it’s casual … and “nin how” if it’s to some one who you are giving respect to. It litteraly means “you good” 😀

unfortunately my Dad (who would have spoken Hokkien anyway) never taught me any Chinese, TBH he didn’t even speak it himself as the colonial language was English and post independence Malay became the main language, my mum spoke Tamil and Malay and Nan didn’t approve of the marriage until 1977 (they got together in 1967!!) and my parents always spoke English in the house as back then there wasn’t todays political correctness so British Asian kids had to learn English first before any other native languages.

Since the 1990s most Chinese in the UK are Mandarin speakers as living standards in HK/MY/SG have improved to the point that people don’t always want to send kids from these richer countries to Blighty, they think its as dangerous, crowded and backwards as Pakistan.. (no disrespect intended to any pakistanis who might be on here, but thats the image put across by media in Malaysia and Singapore)
