  • TBH I’ve not got a great deal of sympathy for this woman; (she was nicked for sending oxycodone in to JP in a parcel without a valid prescription).

its hardly as if Japanese people the same age as her do not also suffer the same health problems; if she has a valid reason for needing the painkillers there are ways of getting the prescription approved in Japan. If anything Asian nations can be more tolerant of the long term use of legit pharms in healthcare environments than in UK or Europe…

Professional people are expected to follow the laws and regulations of the country they land up in (and have the free choice whether or not to work for a company or go to that country). I’ve turned down potentially lucrative job offers in Malaysia and Singapore (at least paying more than in Blighty) as I do not currently agree with the way things are run there….

Is sad but not thatb uncommon I imagine. Maybe even got the addiction through prescription.

Japan follows US practices for public services and has done since the end of WW II – it would be a trivial amount of paperwork to get the script legitimately converted.

Added to which about 60% of the country is now middle aged cat ladies (although they now keep pet owls, fish, basically anything that can survive a crumbling half radioactive country) and/or old men who (when not designing the last generation of SUVs and TV-sets that could rightly still be called “Japanese”) are also keeping half the zoo for pets (as they do not have any kids or grandchildren). The youngest people in many areas are in their 40s and half of them are emigrating to Malaysia.

A once proud and thriving nation is now becoming a retirement village for seniors. It it not going to be short of prescribed painkillers…

musta thought she was above the law and made a poor decision; i don’t understand the appeal in diverted pharma when its soo easy to get prescribed what you want in so so many places or god forbid you have a medical need and then it’ll definitely be prescribed

limited sympathy for anyone sending pills through the post, its a daft idea
