Round here they now use the ion track machine and at least 5 large coppers rather than dogs, and police dogs they do use have stab/bullet proof vests.
Cops here are actually smarter here than city ones (they don’t get the big budgets) and don’t pick low hanging fruit, so the dealers they do turn over tend to be the sort who have no qualms about sticking a sharp pointed object into a cute spaniel.
