  • I am 20 years old and want my health and life back.

In 2004 I started a journey that has left me in the state I am today.I used to take ketamine at the weekend and a gram would last me the whole night with a bit left over I cant even remember those days now. Currently I use anything between 3 and 10 grams a day sometimes more I have no idea how much I take or why I still do it. I have been fooling myself into thinking that I am taking it for the pain. Due to my massive ketamine habit I have developed severe bladder problems. At first I though it was cystitis and started to take over the counter medicine. I thought things were ok and to be honest my drug use varied a lot at the time so I wasn’t taking it everyday. Today I am in constant pain when needing to go to the toilet. I am going to struggle with describing just how bad it is so be patient. Sometimes it feels like you really need a wee, like your bladder is so full its about to burst but then when I try and go to the toilet nothing comes out and the pain intensifies if I strain my muscles really hard I can then go, this is not the relief I craved. I can pass between 20 to 100ml of urine depending on how my day has gone. This is just amount, as for frequency well I don’t know where to begin. Some days I try and count the number of times I need to go but I lose track. I can go for an hour with out needing to go and then I feel almost human again able to do simple tasks. But at other points I can be passing 20ml of urine every 2 to 5 minutes for an hour. The pain feel as if my bladder is going to explode like it is so over stretched even the slightest movement will tear it to pieces. At times it feels like im passing red-hot razor blades. The pain is similar to having acid rubbed into an open wound with no way of washing it out. My stomach swells sometimes due to the continual strain put on my bladder; it almost feels as if my bladder is no longer elastic but a hard shell inside me. There have been days when I have screamed the house down and physically passed out due to the pain that im in. at times like these one thing helps, ketamine. The one thing that is destroying me is the one thing that gives some relief when I just cant go to the toilet and just cant handle the pain any more. I was referred to the university college hospital in London and saw Dan wood he has performed surgery on a few other people who have had bladder problems caused by ketamine. I have had a cystoscopy and a biopsy of my bladder taken this is something I never wish to repeat, I would have rather died than endured the pain I was in after. Now, the painkillers. I am taking df118 dyhdracodene and these do seem to help, I can pass urine with less stress and pain and im generally more relaxed. I have also been given some vesicare tablets which are for an over active bladder but when I took these I found that every time I tried to go to the toilet my bladder would spasm causing immense pain and it would take about 5 minutes before I could pass anything. At the moment my urine is sort of normal, well normal compared to what I was experiencing a few months ago. I used to pas massive lumps of blood and a jelly like substance almost like a clear membrane around the blood, it was sometimes more white in colour and often larger than a 5p coin. The pain I experienced when passing these blood clots was horrific I can never go through that again. It looked like the inside of my bladder falling out. I was tested for any infections and came back clear so im sure this was due to the ketamine. I have been offered surgery but its just not for me, I need another chance in life and I need to help others by exploring just how to deal with this. I am also desperate to stop the k but I am addicted I have tried and failed repeatedly. I’m looking into getting hypnotherapy but I cant afford it yet as im too ill to work. I hope this helps, I find it hard to express the state im in. my boyfriend gilly also has the same problem and he has now had a catheter fitted which has helped a lot he is no longer in as much pain but its no solution really.

If the whole bladder is removed, the operation is called a complete cystectomy. In men, the prostate gland, part of the urethra, and the lymph nodes close to the bladder are also removed. In women, as well as the bladder, the womb, cervix, nearby lymph nodes and part of the urethra are removed. After a cystectomy women will not be able to have children.

Men usually become impotent (are unable to get or maintain an erection) and women may find that sensations during sexual intercourse are different from before the operation. The effects of surgery on your sex life are explained in more detail later on this section.

A new storage place for urine will need to be created using a urostomy, bladder reconstruction, continent urinary diversion or uro-rectal conduit.

    Urostomy

The most common way of making a new drainage channel for urine is to make a urostomy. While you are under a general anaesthetic, the doctor will remove a section of your small bowel, join the two ureters to one end of it and bring the other, open end out through the skin of your abdomen.

This operation makes an ileal conduit. It is called this because the piece of small bowel (ileum) acts as a channel (conduit) to take the urine from the ureters and bring it to the surface of the abdomen. The small hole on the surface of the abdomen, through which the urine now passes out of the body, is called a stoma.

A flat, watertight bag is placed over the opening on the abdomen (stoma) to collect the urine. It is kept in place with a special type of glue. The bag will fill with urine and will need to be emptied regularly.

See further information on living with a urostomy.

    Bladder reconstruction

Sometimes the bladder can be replaced by using a piece of the small or large intestine to make a completely new bladder. This operation is known as bladder reconstruction, and it can be done in different ways.

Usually your doctor will remove a piece of your bowel, make it into a balloon-shaped sac and stitch it to the top of your urethra. The ureters are stitched into this new bladder so that urine drains directly into it from the kidneys. It is then possible for most people to learn how to pass urine through the urethra, rather than needing to wear a stoma bag or use a catheter.

The new bladder is emptied by flexing your abdominal muscles, but you will need to remember to empty it, as you will have lost the nerves that tell you when your bladder is full. Sometimes this nerve loss can lead to incontinence (leaking of urine), especially when you are asleep. Twenty to 30% of patients (2 or 3 out of every 10 people) will have some incontinence.

Bladder reconstruction is not suitable for everyone. Your doctor can advise whether it is possible for you to have bladder reconstruction. Most people are able to learn how to pass urine through the urethra. However, some people find it difficult and need to drain the urine regularly by passing a catheter into the urethra.

    good for you mate!

think the thing that turned me off was a boyfriend once brought back £5 K worth from india – approx 16 years ago and I’d not really heard about it before as recreational / party rug

he used to just go into a K hole when I’d be over to see him and I ended up getting to know his mum very well, she was a very nice lady and we’d end up chatting drinking tequila :you_crazy

thats pretty much what my previous relationship used to be like (different reasons tho) I used to do k to try and get away from what a total headfuck my ex was. When i took to much over new year and finally stopped realised i didnt really need to take it anymore as didnt enjoy it, was just doing out of habit. Obviously i did enjoy it as well at some point, cant totally blame her, but definatly a factor as to why i contiuned for so long…

why does it have to be so nice if we cant do it long term :(:(:(

is there anything else out there reality bending enough to be a good substitute?

    2c’s? acid? dmt? changa? 😉

trips are fairly mind bending but i still find myself wanting to crank it up a notch with k
cant seem to take enough acid to satisfy my lust for wonk.. did 4 drops saturday and was still having to top up on k

changa is pretty damn reality bending.. shame its so short lived. and its hard to get it as intense as a proper out of body k hole. Might try freebasing some dmt next.

im gonna try putting a gram of changa into a tea and drinking it then eating the twiggs and leafs and stuff. gotta be carefull with what you eat first tho. shouldnt really eat anything for 12 hours prior due to the maoi in it… ( think)
have a look here… What foods you should avoid on MAOIs

i was wondering if you could eat changa actually, as its the smokable version of ayahuasca.. yeah uve got to fast beforehand preferably.. not so much cos its dangerous but more to get the full experience out of it

i think it can make you pretty ill as well if you do mix the wrong foods with the maoi. def gonna try it i reckon :weee:

have you tried oral changa yet?

    not yet

next time i go ‘shopping’ going to ask if they have any ayahuasca =P
