  • Has anyone ever experienced this? I suffered sleep paralysis the other day, i think i’ve had it before but only where ive dreamt ive woken up, it was the first time i dreamt something pinning me down or something being in my room. I didnt realise even dreaming you are awake is sleep paralysis aswell. i watched a documentary on it and they said at the end people managed to channel it into lucid dreaming pretty cool!I think it’s pretty amazing, being aware of your own dream. so many different realities! i loooove it

tell me if you have had sleep paralysis and what happened i find it fascinating!

    Hi Honeybear ,
Yes i have ….many years ago when i was in the RAF . I was on a nightshift and we all slept in this long room with four beds . My bed that night was opposite the door in , there is no other way in unless you come through the window at the other end of the room .

Anyway i awoke or at least i thought i did !!!! i was being pushed down into the bed , like being held down . I couldn’t move anything but my eyes and i could see around the room . These Dark small figures were all around my bed holding me down , i couldn’t even shout or talk .

Anyway the little fuckers vannished and was able to get out of bed , every one esle was still asleep . I spent the next hour looking every where for the little freaks but there was nothing !!!! . I guess it was one of those dreams where you inbetween sleep and being awake .

Its the first and only time its ever happened to me but scared the pooo out of me .

    regards

    haha!

Ive been watching a few videos on it it really is fascinating.
It’s because your brain actually releases something that paralyses you during sleep. during the REM stage i think as a safetly mechanism so you dont act out your dreams but sleep paralysis you wake up during this.

I really want to do this lucid dreaming thing, it looks incredibly interesting. You have some kind of signal in your dream that makes you realise it’s a dsream then you’re aware its a dream so you can do whatever you want.

    woaaaaah

    Hi Honeybear ,
To be fair when you experience it it is scary …..however after the big search i do now know it was a dream . Even so its not pleasent at the time !!!!

interesting stuff though explains alot 🙂

no essay tonight, but this is exaclty how i got rid of the fear and managed to lucid dream once i had realised that i was experiencing sleep paralysis, you panick at first, but then remember it is just SP and then off you go flying about in your own dream, where you can do and see anything! absolutely mental stuff! :weee:

    We want an essay!

Talk to TG about essays…she is really into it…

Im not much of a dreamer really – but after taking some Nitrazepam I found it definitely did induce lucid dreaming – shame my imagination whilst dreaming was pretty lame but i look forward to getting some more and giving it another go!
