Man finds nine pounds of cocaine in new car
By Associated Press, 11/20/02
ARTESIA, N.M. — A man who was trying to fix a car he bought at a police auction discovered more than he paid for — bundles of cocaine.
The man notified the Pecos Valley Drug Task Force on Nov. 12 that he found packages of drugs under the vehicle’s console when he started to repair the emergency brake.
The packages contained about 9.7 pounds of cocaine, authorities said.
The man, whose name was not released, bought the 1992 car in Las Cruces earlier this month. He knew from auction information that the vehicle had been seized by the Las Cruces-Dona Ana County Metro Narcotics Agency in June 2001 and had been forfeited.
Lucky bastard. If i found drugs in a car i bought from the rozzers i would laugh and do it all in one night.
what a mug to give all that gear back .. that’s like 5kg a street value of £200000 if sold at £40 a G … and the quality would have probably of been way higher than normal street shit as it wouldn’t of been boshed as many time as that’s like wholesale level … so could potenualy be worth more than twice as much
i would love it so much if i bought a car with that much chang stashed in it!
Insurance on the vehicle would have cost bomb. I mean having 10lb of charlie added to the car as a modification is the sort of thing insurance companies don’t approve of…
